Don't want to jinx it but Lefevre is playing like a boss tonight against LA without Ciman. Guess the mentor has taught him some tricks. Played a lot more confidently. Cleared a Keane chance calmly with his head.

I thought the same but what impressed me more than his play against Keane and the other very good players on LA was the way he handled the speed of Zardes when he was 1v1 with him. That is one hell of a hard task and he pulled it off nicely.

I posted a comment on RDS saying how Lefevre should be selected and people were saying that even with a passport there's still a wait period of six months or something. I was under the impression that once you have citizenship you're eligible. Anyone know what they may be referring to with this "wait period"?

There's no defined wait period beyond the footballing experience one that FIFA puts in place to stop countries handing out a passport to a player that has been in their league for 1 year. Lefevre has been here many years and would have no issues. I'd guess he will be called into the January camp so Floro can see him up close and go from there.

TVA Sport expect this based on what? His performances/talent or because they've heard something...

Vincent Destouches, the color commentator, said that Lefèvre will play soon for Canada and that "mon petit doigt me l'a dit" which means that he's got a good source close to the subject. If the CSA wanted to call Lefèvre, they would need to send it through the Impact and Lefèvre would have to accept it and I'm sure that someone either in the Impact clan or in the Lefèvre clan has told that to Destouches.

I also thought he was very composed,  the commentators I was watching also liked him and Camara a lot. I am not sure that is because he was not pressured to much or did not have Accam near, but he had poise and was strong in the air. Also confident with the ball at his feet. First time I had ever paid attention to him and was pleasantly pleased.

For those of us who haven't seen much of Lefevre: is he a CB or RB? I've seen reference to both positions.

Would be more valued to Canada as a RB given our lack of depth there. And if he is a RB, does he slot in as Ledgerwood's backup or can he challenge as the starter?

He's not a right back, that I can tell you. He has never played there for the Impact's first team.

Unlike Ouimette, I don't recall Lefevre ever playing fullback on either side for the Impact. He does play both sides as CB though. I think he probably lacks the speed and offensive abilities needed for fullback. He is more of a solid stay at home defender. Ouimette is more mobile but a bit less solid defensively. Neither are great talents but they have both steadily improved every year and Lefevre is starting to show some potential to be a steady starter in MLS. He is not the solution to our right back problem and not our first choice starter at CB either but you can never have too many solid CBs and he is certainly a good addition to the team and a solid defender who can start if we need him.
