Y'know who else is genuinely interested to wear our colours?  The 35 man provisional roster that was announced for the Gold Cup and the 23 men who are currently participating in WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS for us!!

(maybe I shouldn't have gone to the pub for lunch....)

Apparently that pic was taken by Fraser Aird who had to borrow Steven Vittoria's camera battery as his had died.

I heard Cavallini was tagged in the photo originally, only to remove himself later because he wasnt sure how to explain to his daughter why there wasn't a Uruguay emoticon

That makes sense. There was a blurry, non-committal figure in the background hidden behind Teal Bunbury's bulbous head who looked a lot like Cavallini.

Has he?  I'm not seeing that tweet.  I'm seeing he is going to be a Canadian citizen Thursday morning but nothing about the national team contacting him?  Did he delete it, or was it a reply to someone?

Anyway, I'm sort of /shrug about him.  The amount of France positivity he posts, in my mind I view him as someone who, given the choice between France and Canada, would choose France.  Call me wrong?  Either way, I'm not super jacked.  If he plays for us, welcome aboard, and thank you for adding depth.  About it.

^^^^ de jong, bircham and a lot of others would probably have played for england or the netherlands if they were good enough.

Obviously lefevre isnt good enough for france. But if he is proud to put on the maple leaf and plays his ass off for us, then i have no problem with him.

Jermaine Jones would have rather (and did!) play for Germany.  But no one in the U.S. was thinking about that when he scored in the WC last year vs. Portugal.

I don't think it's philosophically contradictory to argue that the FIFA rules are silly and need to be changed and, simultaneously, take full advantage of those very same rules in any way we can while they are in place.  To me, this seems like a classic example of "everyone else is doing it, so why can't we".

At the moment we appear to have decent depth at CB but that could change in a hurry. Lefevre is no great shakes and not a young player but could still play for Canada in a pinch. We've played worse guys at that position in the past.

The dude graduated from the Impact academy as a 25 year old. He's only one year younger than David Edgar.

I don't believe he's a prospect. But injuries, stubborn clubs, suspensions, and other things happen to our players. If he had to be called into a squad instead of, say, Karl Ouimette, I don't think we'd be much further behind.
