What is the point of that? If this is an ID camp should they not be looking to ID kids that aren't in a professional set up and get them into one? Ideally the CSA should set up a NTDP U16 team that is basically set up like a club and plays a full schedule each year along with tournaments. It would be a big step to getting kids noticed and into professional clubs whether domestic or abroad. When kids sign or move on (or are inadequate) you rotate the next kid(s) in and so on and so forth.
Blackdude
They had 3 local camps. They took the best players from those camps. Not sure it is a bad idea.
Ivan
This is not a shot at you Keegan. The last time a U15 camp roster was announced, there were only a couple representatives from the academies and the academies were vilified by certain posters for not producing any quality players! Obviously, Jazic and Stalteri continue to look at a large number of players. Very few on the list above seem familiar.
the Humberlands
As Blackdude mentioned, there were 3 main camps: Below is just the one in Toronto, which I think was still the best from an earlier camp (can't prove that though). Note, no one from any of the MLS academies. http://www.canadasoccer.com/canada-s-most-promising-u-15-boys-in-camp-in-toronto-p156445 GK- Dory Elliott | CAN / Edmonton InterGK- Nicholas Frenati | CAN / Mississauga FalconsGK- Thomas McGill | ENG / Brighton and Hove Albion FCGK- Devin Smith | CAN / Unionvill Milliken SCD- Malik Smith | CAN / ANB Futbol AcademyD- Dan Manolache | FRA / AnnecyD-Marko Maletic | CAN / Mississauga FalconsD- John Cevik | CAN / PanelliniosD- Andres Barrera | CAN / Calgary SW UnitedD- Marques Antoine | CAN / PanelliniosD- Daniel Kinumbe | CAN / Verts de SherbrookeD- Justyn Thomas | CAN / Brampton BlastD- Elijah Vital-Sankar | CAN / Brampton Youth SCD- Sheldon Prasad | CAN / Edmonton InterM- David Chung | CAN / Ottawa South UnitedM- Ryan Raposo | CAN / Burlington BayhawksM- Jaden Woods | CAN / Brampton Youth SCM- Vincent Lamy | CAN / Les Étoiles de L’EstM- Michaël Chatel | CAN / Les Étoiles de L’EstM- Chrisnovic N’sa | CAN / PanelliniosM- Diego Reveco | CHI / Club Deportivo MagallanesM- Malyk Hamilton | ENG / West Ham United FCF- Alamuden Agraw Ahmed | CAN / Mont Royal OutremontF- Emmanuel Dolo | CAN / Feildians Athletic AssociationF- Jean-Yves Tabla | CAN / PanelliniosF- Emmanuel Okorougo | SUI / Servette FC 1890F- Joshua Eli | CAN / Richmond Hill RaidersF- Adonijah Reid | CAN / ANB Futbol Academy
Obinna
IIRC, there were 3 caps prior to this (Western Canada, Central Canada, Eastern Canada). The best from those camps made it to the Toronto camp listed above. Now, the Costa Rica camp is the best of that. At least that is what I can gather. Keegan
http://fedefutbolcr.com/infantil-goleo-a-canada/ Actually Canada U15 lost against CostaRica U17. They play again on thursday 25 The Costa Rican team is likely their U17 team for next year so that would be a U16 team in 2014. So it looks like a year advantage for them so it's nice we could get a result down there 2-2.
