nolando
Would have been nice for Montreal to do TFC a favour the way TFC did Vancouver a favour.....I mean really, who wants to see Columbus in the playoffs (other than Crew fans that is)? Ethan Finlay's Canadian dad?

shamrock
Well, the Galaxy has lent TFC a helping hand, beating NYRB 4-0. But Toronto has to fly over there as well...
mmd
TFC better not think that the LA Galaxy will take it easy on them because the are in the Playoffs.....LA wants home field advantage.
shamrock
They meet Redbulls as well so even if they loose to Galaxy (which I'm not sure they will), it wouldn't be crucial Imo.
Obinna
NYRB set to lose a few a bodies for the TFC fixture...... http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2014/10/01/new-york-red-bulls-face-prospect-vital-games-playoff-chase-without-tim-cahil
canucklefan
Philadelphia drew 1 - 1 tonight against Chicago, which it helps TFC. Earnshaw scored for Chicago in the 2nd minute of added time in the second half.
shamrock
Nice to see a former TFC-player help the Reds for a change. They have that p-o spot in their own hands now in a direct battle with NYRB.
Trillium
Referee assigned to game Armando Villarreal, who once gave Bendik a yellow for time wasting then a second yellow after game for expulsion. Bendik was yellow-carded in the 86th minute for time-wasting as he prepared a goal kick. After the game ended, he got another yellow when he went to talk to the referee." http://www.thestar.com/sports/soccer/2013/10/08/toronto_fc_bendik_suspension_means_goalie_stefan_frei_may_get_one_more_start.html The question is will Villarreal implicate himself in the game or let the teams play? In what is a must win for TFC before heading to meet Red Bull New Jersey, you have to wonder if drawing Villarreal will influence the game, especially if the supporters get on his back early. Trillium
Houston within one point of Toronto now, a short handed Dynamo win in Toronto. Red Bulls waiting in New Jersey, Defoe fails to score on the penalty...is TFC done oor are heroics to come on the weekennd? The big question is does TFC ever win during a full moon ? Keegan
Seated behind the net for the Defoe blast over the top. I don't think he even tried to put that one in to be honest... I've never seen Defoe try to hit a ball that hard from in tight and he didn't even hit a driven shot he landed on his left foot when he struck it. -Hammer-
I was at the Dynamo game, and it was just an awful game. Awful weather, awful reffing, awful performance, awful attendance. The best part of the game was the Dynamo's goaltender who was on fire.
Trillium
Red team vs Red Bulls in Harrison NJ, a must win for Vanney, meanwhile on Long Island it will be Dos Santos and Ottawa Fury vs Cosmos, results needed for both teams to make playoffs. Blackdude
Ottawa is 8 points back of the playoffs with 5 games remaining and they have to leapfrog 4 teams. Dos Santos needs tons of help to just make it to 5th place. I'm not even talking about playoffs. It's fun to see that there's an Ottawa version of Kook-Aid. jpg75
That's a Jim Mora rant waiting to happen: "playoffs? You're talking about playoffs? Ottawa will be happy to just win a game"
Trillium
Blackdude, year one of team, eight points back with 15 on offer, chance to qualify slim, pleased with progress... yes, little by little is how you build consistency. I am sure Does Santos is back next year as coach, and as he fills gaps at striker it will get better, the defence is solidifying, mids are good for the league, the strike fource has let us down. I suspect there will be proven strikers ready to play in Ottawa next year, even if the are dropping down from MLS and taking salary cuts.
tmcmurph
Well 6 points out with 2 games left for both TFC and Crew. TFC play home and away to Montreal and NE, the Crew away and home to NYRB & Philli. TFC win 2 and the Crew lose both? What are the tie-breaks? jonovision
I am no Bekker fan, but he needs to be taking the corner kicks and free kicks when he's on the field. It's literally the only part of his game that is above average. Meanwhile, none of Bradley's dead balls amounted to anything. RIP TFC 2014.
