DJT
Guidelines for this threadIn this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for August 15-21, 2014. If you find updates posted in some other thread then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster. If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here. Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. BradMack
Not really a player update, but just letting everyone know we will have a chance to watch Atiba play against Arsenal Tuesday on all of the Sportsnet main channels, rare chance to see him play club ball. Ruffian
Fraser Aird came on in the 68th minute for Rangers FC and set up the first goal. For a lot of the remainder of the game he was the most important player on the pitch. Hopefully this will give him a starting position on a team that has struggled. jpg75
Herediano play tonight at 8pm MT/10pm ET at home to Belen - not sure if this is the tournament opener or not (i think it is). Soccerpro
REB went 90 in the German cup and scored in a 4-1 loss to Bor. Dort. Still baffled why he didn't start in Honduras for us in the hex. His speed kills, just kills.
canucklefan
Just watched REB goal, it was an offside. Aleman is not in the starting XI or in the bench for Herediano. Herediano is losing 1 - 0, the game is not over.

Herediano is losing 1 - 0, the game is not over. Yeah, REB was offside ... but, oh well, these things happen all the time.

shamrock
What's up with the Canadian strikers this weekend? Cavallini got one in his first game of the apertura. Game is still being played, 1-1 in the 74th minute. Edit: make that a brace! Fenix now leading 2-1 against Juventud. Nice way to start the season! 84 minutes gone now. rob.notenboom
How are all of these prolific strikers going to fit into the CMNT?
shamrock
Well, you have to admit there were times it was worse. And Fenix scored 3, can't find the striker yet but just imagine, 2 Canadian strikers with hattricks?? Edit: Am I disappointed right now to find out Cavalline ONLY scored twice in his first game of the season? Things must have changed...
canucklefan
Portuguese second division Trofense (Hamiliton) 2 - 2 Tondela Can't find the lineups so I can't tell if Hamilton played but I can tell that the 2 Trofense goals came from 2 strikers. nrogers87
CHARLIE TRAFFORD in the FINNISH TOP league scored a wonder goal on the weekend. Also the game winner. MAN OF THE MATCH as well. shamrock
Not to rain on your parade but that was last week so it's in the wrong topic. It was a nice strike though. Finland had the semi-finales in the Suomen Cup this weekend, Traffords side Mariahavn lost to HJK, can't see the line-up yet. Monsalve and Oppong both went 90 minutes. FC Oulo is having a great run, 4th win in 5 games now. Pacheco played the full 90 and picked up a yellow card for Santa Clara. They lost. Hamilton came on in the 62nd minute and did not score (as was mentioned before). Cox wasn't on the bench for Athletico CP.
Ruffian
Two games being played with potential Canadian content today in case you want to catch a stream. Nikolas Ledgerwood and Energie Cottbus play Hamburger SV in DFB cup action. Fraser Aird and Rangers FC play Clyde in Scottish Challenge Cup action. I assume Aird will play. Any others?
