Mark-Anthony Kaye

Recommended Posts

I said at the time, MLS is helping us by making Canadian/domestic rule opaque. Basically all draftees from last year are domestics (with a good deal falling in the "other academy" category) and, if reports are true, Kaye as well.

The CSA need to get Dos Santos into TFC or the Caps.

Actually, I like him where he is. The 3 Canadian teams are reliant on Canadians due to economics and the domestic rule. Having a Canadian Coach on an American team gets more Canadians into the MLS. Hopefully it translates to the success he's had in the NASL.

From the LAFC website:

“Mark-Anthony is a promising young player with great potential and versatility,” said LAFC EVP of Soccer Operations and General Manager John Thorrington. “We look forward to integrating him into the group as we believe he can become a significant contributor to our team immediately.

Article from LAFC website - interesting that he mentions Bradley noticed him during the Gold Cup:

His play really took off with Louisville after the Gold Cup, starting almost every game. Thank you OZ.

We should remember this every time some smart ass tells us the coach is always right, dont question the expertise of management etc.  Kaye was with TFC orginization, then USL and it sure seems like Zambrano saw something the others didnt and gave him a huge break.  And he has parlayed that into a possible starting position in MLS.  This is the exact reason why we need more CDN playing, more CDN teams giving players like Kaye a shot, plus coaches. managers etc etc.  CPL cant come soon enough, I cant wait to see what other diamonds will shine if they get the chance.

He looks really good so far

Had a terrible giveaway in front of net in the 17' that got him yelled at by Ciman and probably should have been a goal. Good other than that.

He probably doesn't have a spot in the 11 after LA gets their DP central midfielder, but he's making a decent case for serious minutes.
