Hutchinson played  90 minutes in midfield. Besiktas advance to the play-off round on 3 goals from Ba. The draw will be held on August 8.

If Besiktas go through from this game, then if Hutch remains at Besiktas he will be guaranteed group stage action.  The playoff round would determine whether it would be champions league action, or europa.

Not quite, they have to play in the play-off round. They are going through the "league" route of qualification, and are unseeded, so it looks like they will be drawn against one of Arsenal, Napoli, Zenit, Porto, or Bayer Leverkusen. Yikes.

You clearly misread the post from madmonte. If they win, they are in the Champions League group stage. If they lose, they are in the Europa League group stage.
