Parchman said a few years back that players like Najem and Bustos never had a chance in North American soccer and that if Pirlo was North American his u15 coach would have benched him for "not running hard enough".

yeah, the coaching, but also the general emphasis on athleticism over technique and soccer knowledge. We want stallions, not wizards--which is too bad. I hope Bustos can find the right environment for his skill set.

Contract talks between Bustos and the Caps broke down last week when Bustos' agent informed the Caps that Bustos was going on trial in Latin America. Today, Bustos posted on social media from central Guadalajara, where Liga MX side Club Atlas and second division side Universidad de Guadalajara play.

Guys Guadalajara is a vacation hotspot too. His post also indicates rest. Maybe he's just taking a vacation before jetting off to where he's on trial. There's more to Latin America than Mexico.

Yes. For the most part it's the u23 Liga MX, most teams have 10-15 players on loan. Some of the teams can get really good, but are torn apart every season when loanees return to their clubs.

possibly but teams are a fair bit more unstable. also play is uneven reportedly some liga mx teams won't loan youngester to it.

Sure, but the USL doesn't exactly set a high bar. The play is certainly far more technical.

So according to Glasscity, Bustos loaned to Club Atletico Zacatepec in the Mexican 2nd division, at least he’ll get the playing time to show his stuff.
