From the way the articles with Aird were written, it sounds like his interest with Canada is in getting called up to the Senior Men's side.  I don't think Aird chooses Canada for youth games.  Take that as you will, just the way the articles about Aird recently made it sound.  Which, of course, does not necessarily make it true.

at the same time he would have nothing to lose by coming. Not cap tied, misses no league games as season over.

I hope not if he said "#timetochill"

Look at his mom's twitter

"

@SandraAird

Im a proud mum of two boys.. Fraser plays for Rangers, never miss a game at the Toronto #1 Branch..love my club.."

That's a way to make your other son feel valued

With Haynes, Boakai, and Hamilton all missing, it is not a foregone conclusion that Aird will walk onto this team, professional experience or not.

This team is deep.

Heard Haynes was invited, but was replaced last minute due to playing games this week for Whitecaps.

Cool.  Nice to hear.

It's going to be difficult to pick 6 guys out of the 13 I mentioned.  This team is going to be exciting to watch.

Yeah man, it was just noteable.  Huitema could shine, he's a sick striker.

Very encouraging re: Aird.

If he was going to show up I thought it would be for the MNT camp.  The U20s is a bonus.  No guarantee Canada will be his final choice but it might say something that he accepted the call when he could have remained on the fence.  Canada's experience with most starlets with a choice is that they never wear the Maple Leaf.

Yes, depth could be quite good with this group.  Hope the goal scoring will not be as big an issue.
