msilverstein47
congrats Kraft Family and the New England Revs... http://www.bostonmagazine.com/news/article/2014/03/25/bob-kraft-worst-owner-new-england-revolution/2/
rob.notenboom
Read that. Very thorough article and interesting read. Never thought that much about downtown vs suburbs stadia, but it sounds like Foxboro is about the worst place for a team esp with the transportation issues getting there. killgod
I've been to Gillette, it's definitely in the middle of nowhere. Really sucks for the Revs supporters w/o that super awesome/convienient party train to take to the stadium.
Grizzly
What really sucks about Gilette is not the distance from Boston (there are other stadiums just as far from their cities) but that there is no way to get there other than by car. Boston would be an easy day trip for us but because there is no way for us to get to the stadium without the bus we have to get picked up and thus have to do an overnighter due to bus driver sleep regulations. We could do a day trip and just go to Foxboro but what the hell do you do for a day in Foxboro? And while this is just an occasional inconvenience for away supporters, it kills their attendance because no one can go to the games unless they have a car. There are shuttle buses and a train stop for the NFL games but they do not put them on for the Revs and there is no regular bus service from Boston to Foxboro. Cheeta
Pretty good article by the way. Aren't NHL owners disqualified in the league by-laws from also owning NFL or NBA franchises? Quite sure I remember hearing that somewhere during all the Phoenix drama. For the obvious reasons of course, which are strongly suggested in the article.
