DJT
Guidelines for this thread In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for February 14-20, 2014. If you find updates posted in some other thread then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster. If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here. Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. Big_M
Both games ended 1-1 in the Championship. Edgar didn't play and Jackson got on in the 56th minute when they were down 0-1. The equalizer was awarded to Woolford but the match report says Jackson might have gotten the final touch on Woolford's shot.
shamrock
In Germany, two Canucks played in the 3. Bundesliga today. Ledgerwood played his first complete game for Duisburg, as they beat Rot-Weiss Erfurt 3-2 at home. Stuttgarter Kickers also won at home, 1-0 against VfL Osnabrueck. Edwini-Bonsu only got into action in the 83rd minute. He's still struggling to make an impact in that league. Wiesbaden will play tomorrow, away against RB Leipzig which is quite the fixture. In the Regionalliga West, Piette got another game for Duesseldorf. But the received an oldskool beating as Rot-Weiss Essen won the Ruhr-derby 5-0 in Germanies 4th tier. Wassey got 7 minutes plus injury time after his recovery. Wiedenbrueck drew Borussia Moenchengladbach 2 0-0.
beachesl
"And the hosts made them pay with eight minutes to go when Woolford pounced on the rebound to fire home after Bogdan had parried a shot from substitute Simeon Jackson." Millwall 1-Bolton 1 Simeon Jackson on as substitute at 56'.

Big_M
Hoilett is playing on the right side. 1-0 for Reading after 10 minutes. 14' Hoilett gets a yellow for a bad challenge. 20' Hoilett gets the ball in the box on a cross, makes a nice pass to the forward who shoots, saved by the keeper but Doyle is there to put it in. 1-1. 22' Hoilett penetrates on the right, makes a low, short cross and it's almost deflected in the goal by a defender. A header by a QPR player goes just over the bar on the ensuing corner kick. 25' Hoilett gets it in the middle, advances and shoots with the left foot, saved by the keeper. Half-time, 1-1. Good performance by Hoilett. With the bench that they have, he will probably get subbed out sometime in the 2nd half. Reading scores 2 quick back to back goals and it's 3-1 after 60 minutes. I missed the 2nd goal but the 3rd one was a wonderful top-corner striker from 25-30 yards out. 63' Hoilett send a great cross (might have been deflected) at the far post and it just needed to be headed in but the forward missed it. 71' Red card for a Reading player for a hard tackle on Hoilett. Full-time, 3-1 for Reading and Hoilett went the 90.
shamrock
In Germany, De Jong stayed on the bench as Augsburg lost at home. In the second division, neither Hainault nor McKenna played for Aalen or Koeln respectively, but it's good to see McKenna on his way back, as this was his 5th appearance on the Cologne bench (he did play twice in Koelns second team, according to soccerway.com, in the Regionalliga. Sorry to have missed that). Kaiserslautern (Occean) will play on monday. Adam Straith did not feature for Wiesbaden, who lost to RedBull. I cannot see wether he was on the bench or not. In the Regionalliga Nord, Canizares played another full 90 minutes for Oldenburg, who drew Viktoria Hamburg 1-1. They are currently third, hanging 6 point behind Wolfsburg 2. In Scotlands League 2, Calum Ferguson got 75 minutes in a game against Queen's Park. Montrose won 1-0. Interestingly, Lucas Birnstingl defended the goal for last-place Queens Park. He's from Oakville, OT and it was his 15th appearance in League Two. Unfortunately, they seem to be relegating. In Israels Liga Leumit, Chencinski got another clean sheet. Hakoah Ramat Gan beat Maccabi Ahi Nazareth 0 - 1. They are climbing into the promotion group. In Uruguay, Fenix won an away game 3-0 and are leading the table (after 3 games). Cavallini got the start and had 66 minutes of playing time. In Cyprus, Daniel Haber got another chance after 70 minutes into play. He didn't score but his side Apollon won 3-0. sloth8
Jackson should have put it away himself. Still, he got into a good position.
shamrock
In Greece, Xanthi won 1-0 at home against Kalloni. De Guzman played the entire game. Brantfords Patryk Misik was on the bench for Slask Wroklav in Poland. It was his first appearance it seems. Hope he'll get into action soon, the Ekstraklasa is a growing league. Atiba Hutchinson also played 90 minutes down in Turkey. Besiktas beat Bursaspor 1-0 and are currently second in the table, 5 points behind Fenerbace. In the same country but in 1. Lig, Ricketts played for 90 minutes, as Bucaspor beat Adana Demirspor 1-0. Bucaspor currently is 9 points away from a promotion group spot, but they have won the last 3 games in a row.
