2015 Pan Am Games

I'm sure everyone is excited but we need more info before organization.  I'm planning on going with friends, we are going to have a talented team and at home too.. can't beat that.

There are never really posts about the Olympic team before info comes out.  Floro has quietly been prepping this team by calling young players.

Advance ticket sales end Monday.  I figure I'll might as well grab a ticket for the men's semi's - 5 pm on Thursday July 23 - as that's fixed in stone.  And I'm tempted to risk getting what will likely be Canada's men's group games. July 12, July 16, and July 20.  If anyone else wants to join in on me, drop me a message.

Hmm, that schedule I posted earlier doesn't seem to actually work.  What about this - hmm, that seems to work.  Click to enlarge.

Nice, not surprising.  Very good for Ben to jump from home to take a chance with a 3rd division team with no foreigners and obviously he got a lot more playing time than most Canadians on the planet.

In unrelated news one of those articles on the side translates to:

I killed him, "We will have to find four or five additions»

I already got tickets for the opening game, but I would be down to going to some additional games. Are we going to be doing Woman's games too or just the men's. I mean July 11th, 15th and 19th are the Women's group stage matches.

Also as far as location, I seem to recall some complains about the distance from the pitch in the patio sections. It seems that I can't buy tickets from the site any more. I doubt that all the games sold out, so I guess I'm gonna hope for box office purchases. My suggestion is section 102 or 103.

As a side note, looks like the Ti-Cats uploaded a new section map with a outline of the pitch in soccer configuration, so 102 would be the south-west corner with 101 being behind the pitch.

So I don't know how relevant this might be to people coming in from out of town, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

http://becausebeer.ca  is happening at Pier 4 Park on July 10th from 3-11pm and July 11th from 2-11pm and given the first game doesn't start till 6:00pm and the Canada game likely later, that might be an interesting place if you are big into Craft beer and want to hang out before the game. Tickets cost $35 day of the event and that gets you 4 sample tokens. Last year, the samples were about a half bottle's worth. Additional tokens go for $1.25.

That's what I'm planning on doing before the game and then taking the 04 Bayfront Bus to the stadium

I do know the Vs opted to go to the nearby Touchdown Pub for the Women's friendly pre-game. It's a bit divey but their beer is as cold as anyone elses.

Apart from that, my general recommendation is to find one of the many restaurants and Pubs downtown during the day. Augusta St or Hess Village and take either the King or Cannon bus down to the stadium.
