At this point in his career, I hope the man gets PAID for him and his family. As long as it's on a team he can keep working on his clinical finishing I'm all for it. Unnamed Trialist 4,379 Posted July 28 I posted this on the Canucks weekly thread as well. With this match we may see interest in a transfer to Spain revived, especially since the Spanish league does not start for another month and teams with poor preseasons will be looking for firepower. It does definitively confirm him as a Liga 1 quality player, a huge step up for him and for us as well. -------------- Marca has a very detailed chronicle of the match Puebla played vs. Betis, winning 2-0, and praises Cavallini as the best player of the game https://www.marca.com/futbol/betis/2019/07/28/5d3df80ae2704e67058b4575.html He started, played all or almost all (doesn't say, but he got a very late yellow), played a pass for their third which the other Puebla player blew, says Marca, after describing Betis trying to come back after going down: "Eso sí, sufriendo en las veloces contras de los mexicanos, con un gran Cavallini, el mejor del partido." "All the while struggling with the Mexican's fast counter attacks, with a great Cavallini, the best player of the match" 11 3 Obinna, Cheeta, nolando and 11 others reacted to this

Unnamed Trialist 4,379 Posted August 5 (edited) The goal was brought back and he was deemed to have fouled so hard to get the ball for the play before that he was red carded, after consulting VAR. Puebla is protesting the call as it seems Cavallini did not even know the rival was there, he played the ball and hit a leg inadvertently as he turned. Here is a decent video: the commentators think that it was not a red but could be called a foul so they were right to not allow the goal: Edited August 5 by Unnamed Trialist
Floortom 776 Posted August 14 http://www.record.com.mx/columnistas-francotirador/martin-cauteruccio-borrado-de-los-planes-de-cruz-azul?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app apparently whitecaps made $5M offer for cavalini which was rejected
apbsmith 1,129 Posted August 14 As much as I feel for Whitecaps fans, I really want to see him keep playing in Liga MX, getting minutes and banging in goals. Even until the end of this WC cycle I'd prefer him in Liga MX over Europe, but that's my CMNT bias taking over. 1 Unnamed Trialist reacted to this

Obinna 5,300 Posted August 14 I am glad Cavallini didn't join Vancouver. At the same time I find it interesting they actually made a $5M bid. I mean, you want to get the lowest price possible if you're the Whitecaps, but weren't we hearing numbers in the double digits thrown around? I can't recall for sure, but I thought Puebla was holding out for at least $10M... If you want a big player you must pay accordingly. Toronto paid around that for Pozuelo. And while Toronto can afford more than Vancouver, they should still have some Davies bucks to play with, presumably...

Did Puebla win his phantom red card appeal? At the same time, very difficult to leave a guy like Cav on the bench, regardless of the manager, let's hope the manager sets him up to continue his nice run of form. He didn’t play two games in a row and then played yesterday, so perhaps he was given 1 more game, or perhaps he was sat, I was away when it all happened and didn’t have my laptop to translate Spanish articles.
