Dub Narcotic
Is anyone following the NCAA tournament? Cyle Larin scored 2 goals to upset UCLA at home and was named TDS player of the week; he's already been named AAC Freshman of the year, top 20 in the TDS freshman list and has already been projected as a GA signing. Speaks to how well the MLS residencies and Sigma are doing in developing players, look at this TDS list of top freshmen: http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college/freshmentop100/?genderId=m&periodId=20&seasonId=2013&nopage=0 5. Alex Halis, Syracuse, Sigma 18. Cyle Larin, UConn, Sigma 20. Chris Nanco, Syracuse, Sigma 32. Brody Huitema, Duke, Whitecaps 50. Mark Wadid, Penn State, Toronto FC 54. Sergio Camagro, Coastal Carolina, Toronto FC 70. Kwame Awuah, UConn, Sigma
youllneverwalkalone
We've been talking about it over here: http://www.cansoc.org/showthread.php?46782-2013-14-NCAA-Division-I&highlight=NCAA Kai Morton from the Impact didn't make the TDS list, but played very well. Sean Melvin also had a pretty good year UNC Greensboro.

If anyone knows how to glom all threads together, please let me know. You realize how unwieldy that would be come Voyageurs Cup time, WCQ, Gold Cup etc., right? Especially for people who are mostly only interested in niche subjects like the CSL or MLS or Canadians in Germany.

Every forum really only has traffic in a few threads and it's no sin for a thread to occasionally fall off the front page. Anyway, that 'New Posts' button is very useful. El Hombre
Not unwieldy at all? Every forum really only has traffic in a few threads and it's no sin for a thread to occasionally fall off the front page. Anyway, that 'New Posts' button is very useful. There are 8 updated threads in the past week in the "Other Leagues..." section. Right now there isn't too much action on this board, but once we get into Gold Cup or U20 qualification or WCQ, there will be screaming on here about CSL news cluttering up the board. Trust me, I've heard this screaming in stereo. Also, I've been told by a number of users on this board that they like the separation because they're not so fond of the shenanigans that go on in the MLS forum, so the separation makes it easy to avoid that stuff. Sorry for the off-topic, I just wanted to give my opinion on this. On-topic: for those that haven't been following it, we have a number of players that are doing really well in NCAA. It's really worth following once you get down to championship season. The bracket is here. Michigan State, UConn, New Mexico and Washington all feature Canadians. masster
Canadian Mackenzie Pridham is listed at number 12 on the latest mock draft on the MLS website http://www.mlssoccer.com/superdraft/2014/news/article/2013/12/19/mock-draft-v20-mls-campus-rates-blue-chippers-one-month-out-2014-superdraft
El Hombre
Apparently Cyle Larin was offered a Generation Adidas contract. No indication as to whether he will take it or not though.
Dub Narcotic
There was a comment on the RPB forum that he had turned it down already. No idea of the truth of any of this, although I think he would be foolish to turn down a GA deal. UConn is not exactly the Ivy League and a GA deal is good money and an early start to a pro career. Dub Narcotic
Should also note that Pridham has the reputation as a Lenhart/Sandoval-type player, very physical and dirty. Maybe what the international team needs a little bit of.

ag futbol
Pridham has a highlight video up on youtube right now from his last two years of college play. Kid has some skill IMO and could do well in MLS. His position on draft boards has been pretty erratic, but with a decent combine showing he could move up a ways. Nice to see two Canadian strikers in the first round of a mock draft. We certainly could use some good strikers so hopefully they will make the transition to a professional league successfully. maccaliam
Interesting to see he turned down sporting kc to train with Toronto. I also like how he didn't pander to the American interviewer and American audience and say he was properly considering them. Doesn't mean he's looking to suit up for us but it seems if he was pushing for them, this would have been his opportunity to express that.

Doesn't mean he's looking to suit up for us but it seems if he was pushing for them, this would have been his opportunity to express that. That's because he's from Toronto and rather spend his summer in Toronto than Kansas City. lol Anyway, I hope TFC either draft Pridham or try to move up in the draft to get Larin. TFC needs a 4th striker!
maccaliam
Well considering he said he left canada as a young child, I thought it not quite such an obvious choice. Especially considering Tfc is Tfc. Hopefully larin lands at a club where he keeps developing and thrives, and he does represent us in our full men's national side.
