Tough day at the office for Milan Borjan yesterday against Fenerbahce with 5 goals against. To be fair his net was under constant attack and he made some good saves but he definitely should have done better on the decisive 2nd and 3rd goals. His continuing weakness on airial balls and corners is worrying. His coach this year at Sivasspor is Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos.

No, Roberto Carlos coaches Borjan's team Sivasspor not Fenerbahce (although that is one of club's he played for). It's his second coaching job. He was head coach of Anzhi Makhachkala of the Russian Premier League for one year before accepting a demotion to assistant last year when the club hired Gus Hiddink. It says something about the character and ambition of Carlos that he was humble enough to accept a demotion for the chance of working with one the world's top managers which will certainly be a positive influence on his future coaching abilities.

Occean has started for Kaiserslautern at home against Cottbus. Kaiserslautern has played with 10 men since the 7th minute due to a red card and are trailing 2-1 at the half.

Edit: Occean played 87 minutes and Kaiserslautern came back to tie the game, ending at 2-2. Occean played fairly well and was dangerous at times even though he did not score. The announcers noted that he played OK and while he still did not have the same confidence he had when he was scoring regularly for Furth, his game seemed to be on the upswing. This is only Occean's 2nd start for Kaiserslautern since he transferred. They fired their coach after the last game, a 4-0 loss to Hainault's Aalen and the interim coach is a former player and long time assistant coach for them who may possibly be given the head coaching job. The fact that he started Occean in his first game as coach is a good sign. The team played really well despite being down a man for most of the game. I had mixed feeling since Cottbus is one of the teams I support but the penalty and red card at the beginning was very harsh in my opinion. There was contact but not enough for a penalty and even so the contact was outside the box. Great atmosphere in Kaiserslautern.

Adam Straith played twice this weekend. First the full 90 minutes in a win against RB Leipzig which brought Wiesbaden to the top of the league, and again in Tuesday in a loss against Rot-Weiss Erfuhrt, which put Wehen back to second spot. He got subbed after only 38 minutes, so either he's injured or his performance was below par.
