TFC07
No Bernier ... but Dunfield is in. Hmmm. It might had to do with Montreal being in CCL and trying to finish top of the East?
Addona
It might had to do with Montreal being in CCL and trying to finish top of the East? Yeah, it's gotta be right ... but I'm happy that he called in a guy like Osorio. Even if he is a little banged up, he can still begin to learn the new system, bond with guys that weren't at the GC, etc.
El Hombre
33 players and still no Rob Friend. FLORO OUT! What's the scoop on Jackson Farmer?

Addona
No Cavallini? Yeah, this sucks, but I guess he's trying to prove himself at his club ... still, damn, are we ever going to get this kid into a camp! Also, no other big "surprises", e.g. Hoilett, or unknowns. Esco0428
And no REB ... does anyone know how serious his injury is? He still hasn't caught on with anyone! I thought I heard he had a surgery. So I guess it was serious enough that he needed one.
Esco0428
No Cavallini? My guess is that he turned down the call or worked something out with Floro. Right now on the depth chart, he's the 4th striker for Nacional. However, one of the starters is currently injured, and Nacional have a game September 9, 2013. Therefore, probably good opportunity for him to gain additional minutes and perform.
VWFC
33 players and still no Rob Friend. FLORO OUT! What's the scoop on Jackson Farmer? Caps residency. Has been training with the first team. Not seen it first hand, but high hopes for the kid. You'll notice Sam Adekugbe says Whitecaps FC, not residency. Thats because according to this article he's about to sign with the first team. http://www.theprovince.com/sports/soccer/Whitecaps+have+high+hopes+young+Adekugbe/8840655/story.html
VWFC
... and comments on the squad. Only two questions in my mind - Why Dunfield? Where's Cavallini?
youllneverwalkalone
Too bad about Cavallini and Johnson, probably the two players I enjoy watching the most these days. Could be imagining this, but I feel like there's a bit of "rewarding loyalty" aspect to these calls. I think everyone in Vancouver thinks Farmer will be a good possession style CB, but it's hard to argue he's further ahead than Luca Gasporotto. Also, can't find any logical explanation for Dunfield, Ricketts, or Ledgerwood... I also can't understand why Stillo wouldn't be called ahead of these older keepers. Papa Stillz must be pissed! phil7777
Can't understand why Bernier is never called up... especially with his success in Montreal and his tactical skills. Dunfield... really?
The Ref
33 players and still no Rob Friend. FLORO OUT! What's the scoop on Jackson Farmer? Let us not forget Joey Torchia either!
zeelaw
... and comments on the squad. Only two questions in my mind - Why Dunfield? Where's Cavallini? Maybe trying to get Dunfield a free audition for other teams? I'd hope not though.
Keano
Can't understand why Bernier is never called up... especially with his success in Montreal and his tactical skills. Dunfield... really? Given that Tissot and Ouimet are also passed over for other teenagers of no more pedigree one has to assume the Impact requested that Floro keep his hands off with MLS playoffs and CL elimination rounds both looking possible/probable. Addona
So, a question for people who know more than me: If we're calling in young guys like Farmer, who not call in guys like Carreiro/Petrasso?
Ivan
So, a question for people who know more than me: If we're calling in young guys like Farmer, who not call in guys like Carreiro/Petrasso? QPR said no? The others were more impressive in Spain? More likely club commitments as Cavallini, Gasporotto all passed over.
Esco0428
So looking at the squad for this camp, 33 players called - which means 3 different XI lineups. Here is my best guess on these, which I will differentiate by A, B, and C teams (in a 4-2-3-1 formation) A- 11 --------------Borjan------------------ Ledgerwood--Edgar--Hainault--De Jong ------De Guzman----Hutchinson------- Teibert--------Osorio--------De Rosario -------------Jackson------------------ B - 11 --------------Hirschfeld--------------- Fresenga--Jakovic---Henry-----Morgan ------Pacheco----Dunfield------------ Nakajima-Farran---Bekker--------Hume -------------M. Haber----------------- C - 11 ----------Stamatapolous-------------- Cebara--Straith--Farmer----Adekugbe ------Piette----Gagnon-Lapare------- D. Haber------Aleman--------Porter -------------Ricketts---------------- For the C team, the only position that looked way out of place was obviously - right-back. Hence, why Cebara is there, even though he's more of a winger. Thoughts? For the A team, another option is switching Hutchinson and Osorio around, but left it as is for now. youllneverwalkalone
^I would be trying to make Piette a RB. I'd rather see 4-4-2 (which still works with your A-11)
1zzurri
Like to see petrasso and carriero there in the next year or so with cavallini. Dont understand bernier exclusion

Sam
Love the fact he's called 33 players, shows that he really is entering this with an open mind to everyone and that he will be doing his homework on more than just the usual group of 25ish players that have seen action over the past couple years.
