According to DFB he came on in the 80th minute (http://www.dfb.de/index.php?id=512235&no_cache=1&action=showSchema〈=D&liga=rlw&saison=13&saisonl=2013&spieltag=2&spielid=rls_5260&cHash=93a3804893eca1ed8efb5bb9acec44db)

Good news from LA, Kofi Opare made his first-team debut. He played the full 90 minutes against Costa Ricas Cartagines in the Champions League en picked up yellow. Hope this leads to more starts for the Galaxy.

After the Vilsvik transfer fell through in the last moment, it's now pretty much a done deal that Karim Bellarabi will return to Braunschweig )press conference should be later this day). So Jackson will probably be first striker off the bench for now as long as Eintracht plays with only one striker - Bellarabi will start on the right wing, and Kumbela as striker once he is fully fit.

Finland

half

Mariehamn 2 : 0 JJK Jyväskylä

Thompson gets the start.

AND a 21 year old midfielder named Charlie Trafford. I've never heard of the kid, anyone? Could he be related to former-IFK player Mason Trafford? It's just too obvious I guess...

Anyway, after a google I found out he's from Calgary and has spent the first half of 2013 with Dutch second division-side De Graafschap. He was with Young De Graafschap (U23) and hasn't made any appearances in their first team squad. He was let go apparently and now has landed some sort of agreement with Mariahamn. Good to see him get some action and hopefully he'll be able to transfer to a better league soon (unlike Mason who went to China).

On a sidenote: he also has a Polish passport (which increases his chances in EU-countries).

And he SCORED the 3rd in a 4-1 win! Great start for him!

He came out of Calgary Foothills. Was with the Whitecaps Residency/PDL for a season or so. Went on to York University for a couple years, signed with de Graafschap, had an injury, saw time mostly with their reserves. He is indeed Mason Trafford's cousin. At youth level in Alberta, he was very strong technically, tall and lanky with a soft first touch. A playmaking midfielder.

Oops. Thanks for pointing that out! I'm surprised anyone even read this particular recap :D

My neighbourhood team FT Braunschweig might be Oldenburg's next opponent in the Lower Saxony Cup. They reached the semis as well yesterday. I grew up a few hundred meters from their stadium. So in case they play Oldenburg I will have to mercilessly root against the Canadian. Oldenburg are in the 4th division as well, btw, something I missed last time ;).

Europa Leauge - Qualifying

2 pm ET

Apollon Limassol (Haber) v Nice

And Haber played, albeit symbolicly. He came on in the 93th minute to replace man of the match Sangoy who scored two goals. But still, it's a sign that Haber is a part of their plan so he should be making plenty of minutes this season. And 2-0 against Olympique Nice is not too shabby btw.
