Guest Ed
What's the name of the clown on that god-awful re-vamped "Canadian" soccer show featuring a Dutchman who dresses like Mr Dressup and some eye-candy???? We all know that Martinique is not a country. We don't have to hear it 10 times in 2 minutes. However, I doubt the ass-hat knows that the French territory made it to the 1/4 finals of the gold cup when Canada had a much stronger squad (2 years removed from winning it all in 2000). narduch
I just don't understand how guys like Rongen and Dicchio have time to work on a soccer show.
Keegan
To call it a Canadian soccer show is wrong. Everyone on that show is related to Canadian soccer in some way but they rarely, if ever talk about the CMNT and probably dedicate twice the time to any other national team. I understand it's Fox but maybe someone can better explain why they would hire all these people with knowledge of the Canadian game to talk everything and skip over Canadian content. TFC07
The show is made in Toronto for Fox Soccer station in USA. Since Sportsnet is part own by Fox Sports, we will get that garbage show on Sportsnet as well. I personally hate that show and I wish Footy Show was still going on instead of that crap that Americans watch to get their soccer news.

So why do the Americans want to hear footy news from Canadians? Puzzling. I guess I shouldn't be surprised seeing as Fox made an equally strange move in signing Jay and Dan for huge $$.. not sure the American audience is really going to "get" them. Califax
I think they do good work. 10 years ago, there was nowhere near the amount of content there is now. And my experience has been, when Canada plays, there is Canadian content. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

You have to be f*ing joking. 10 years ago, SoccerCentral WAS a Canadian show, lots of Cdn content. Fox Sports World covered the rest of the world. Fox Sports World covered the rest of the world. Pretty sure this was put on by Canadians too! Asshat you're probably referring to is either Brendan Dunlop (who always made it known that his team was Portugal on the old FootyShow podcasts) or Ben Ennis, who i cannot stand listening to for more than 5 seconds, awful, awful jokes. Shame the class that ran the FootyShow and podcast took the "step up" to SportsNet but the quality isn't half of what it was at theScore.

Joe Keeper
Yeah, after watching the Canada Mexico post game tonight I am done with this pseudo-Canadian soccer show. All they do is pander to Americans and Mexico national team fans. Its criminal that Sportsnet do the broadcast for FOX Soccer in order to have its Canadian content quota filled when their is little to no actual "Canadian content". I would rather watch Forrest and Dobson circa 12 years ago any day. Will the real Soccer Central please stand up, please stand up, please stand up! Califax
The media critics will be happy to know that this show will re vamped and made more "Canadian" very soon. The same cast of characters though.

narduch
The show is garbage, like most other Rogers produced products. It only exists because Sportsnet World needs to fullfil its Canadian content quotas for the CRTC. I try watching for the soccer high lights but the commentary is so cringe worthy I can't take it. ThiKu
Re: JDG2 interview -I know, right!? They promote the interview as if Canadians are supposed to like and support this guy! They have no efing clue. The show is terrible. I watch the first 10-15 minutes to get the best highlights then shut it off.

munseahawk
Foix Soccer Channel will cease to exist in August, so it should happen at around the same time. Their programming will be transitioned to Fox Sports 1 (formerly Speed) when it launches in August. Considering that Speed is part of my current cable package, I wonder if Fox Sports 1 will be included?
