Joe MacCarthy
Let's make this simple so we can find out where the Voyageurs stand. Do you support the stance taken by Sportsnet's Sid Sixeiro re: Junior Hoilett Hoilett not committing to Canada angers Sid http://bcove.me/z46nehlx
Grizzly
100% support. About time someone said this. The best thing about the events of this week is that these players are finally finding out that they are going to be called to task for their decisions and become villains in the country they were born and raised in, where their family lives in and where many of them still intend to live in when their career is over. No more ********** getting to meet Prime Minister Harper type of reception. If the clubs start refusing them access they also might start realizing that they are closing some doors concerning future career possibilities. And we need to pressure the clubs to start acting like proud fans of Canadian soccer because lets not forget the Caps also trialled Lensky and considered signing **********. Cheeta
A reluctant yea vote only because I feel Junior may be the wrong target for all this, but the broader sentiment is 100% spot on.

Yeah and despite the fact that I will always feel silly about being a grown man booing a 23 year little girl as was the case Sunday, the message we sent to the next generation of female soccer players at BMO was loud and clear: your fellow Canadians won't stand for this. Sid's going ape ****, People love Forrest and Dobson for speaking up, I'm agreeing with grizzly whole heatedly, everyone has taken to social media to defend an outright lie from traitor mcgee, it's a weird wonderful time to be a voyageur. madmonte
Short answer damn right I do. And Leroux is full of crap. Just an opinion, but it's mine and I'm keeping it.
ThiKu
This is absolutely wonderful. As horrible as Leroux is making the Toronto and Vancouver fans look, the crowd support there that day and the rant today by Sexeiro which is now very public is a message to the kids today - we won't put up with this anymore. Choose another country, sure, but don't expect us to support you one bit when you do. In fact, expect nothing but vitriol.
Joe MacCarthy
Almost 200 views and only 13 votes? No wonder the Canada haterz dominate the comments to articles and blogs. I would like to think the "Silent Majority" support Sid. Let yourself be heard!
Joe Keeper
100%! Fan opinion especially ours, has helped change the soccer landscape in this country before, why not now? It has to come from us and the media first.

Even if he picked Canada tomorrow he jerked us around a long time and wasn't there when we needed him most. Guilty as charged. Sorry to get excited here but we've analyzed this to death and have gotten nowhere. Analysis is paralysis. JamboAl
This isn't his first strong comment on Canadian soccer and likely won't be the last. At WCQ, he's in the south end standing, singing and going through the same joy and angst as the rank and file supporters. He's one of us. Top man that Sixeiro! narduch
Tim and Sid is my favourite sport radio show. These guys are funny and they know their sports. Not just soccer, they can talk pretty much anything. Nice to see this getting some traction. I agree with others. Lets let these players know we aren't happy. We can all be douchebag supporter's of them (oh I understand their decision blah blah blah).
Joe MacCarthy
Now's an appropriate time to retell the mercenaries this tale of long ago. When fine ale was served by flaxen haired maidens, oops that's another story. "Everyone one of us guys, thirty-five guys who came out to play for Team Canada, we did it because we love our country and not for any other reason. They can throw the money for the pension fund out the window, they can throw anything they want out the window - we came because we love Canada. And even though we play in the United States and we earn money in the United States, Canada is still our home and that's the only reason we come." ray
I blame FIFA for continuing to allow this nonsense of inheriting nationalities. And yes, Hoilett Jr should commit to the country in which he was raised. That goes for Fraser Aird, too. Will he be in the MNT camp to see how he likes the Canadian system or does he really want to represent his country? Seriously, though. If Hoilett has no interest in representing Canada, at least say so.
alberta white
+1 Ray, Even though it should not bother me as an English fan it does. As I said before. Play for the country you were born or raised in ( and by that I mean 10-15 years- none of this 5 year naturalization crap) or the country where your parents hailed from (and no not grandparents...PARENTS). It would put an end to agents (yes them) playing countries like marketing opportunities. either that or just scrap International football, which is slowly becoming a joke anyway. * by the way yes I did Vote. the one thing I can vote on in Canada is this and the ESG website

zeelaw
That goes for Fraser Aird, too. maccaliam
When I saw there was 33 for and 1 against, it made me think of Eddie Izzard's "Cake or Death" skit. Perhaps, the lone against was accidental but this poll is less forgiving than the church of England. EDIT: I now see there are two, but it could still apply! ray
Wasn't he called up for the GC Prelim? http://www.canadiansoccernews.com/content.php?4604-Gold-Cup-roster!!!! Sure, but I'm hoping Aird is coming with the intention of joining the Canadian player pool and not just testing the waters before making his final Canada/Scotland decision. Don't take the place of another player if you are not ready to commit. That said, if Fraser has made his decision in accepting this call-up then good on him!
