Fussball_eh
Hi, I actually signed up a few days ago, but wasn't able to post for some reason until now. So now I am ueber excited to finally be able to post things . So let me introduce myself. I grew up in Germany and from early childhood on supported Borussia Dortmund. I was an avid soccer player back in the day, but was never any good enough to go professional or anything. Just played for the high school team and several club teams, etc. I immigrated to Canada, after having spent three years in a Canadian boarding school from grade 10 to 12. After years of following the Bundesliga and other European competitions, I have finally had the epiphany that I should be supporting North American soccer too. So here I am trying to get into MLS, NASL, etc. It's pretty tough at first . I also became a Canadian citizen about 2 months ago, so I also officially support the Canadian Men's National Team! *yay* Additionally, I run a blog on Canadian players, who are trying their luck over in Germany. You can read all about it on my website: http://www.fussballeh.com . Also, I have been writing most articles myself and it's getting tough to keep up posting. So I am looking for authors. If you fancy yourself a writer and want to write about Canadian Soccer, German Fussball or something other to do with soccer let me know and write me: info@fussballeh.com Anyway, I'm excited to be on board and to be meeting all of you soon! Oh, my real name is Jon.

El Hombre
If you're not busy tonight, you should pop in to Grace O'Malley's in the east end. It's going to be a veritable who's who of Ottawa Voyageurs there watching the Canada-Costa Rica game.
elmateo
Some of the Voyageurs are also in a local supporters group that is going to the Fury PDL and W-League matches but really trying to get going for the NASL matches next year: http://www.bytownboys.webs.com/ http://www.facebook.com/groups/2365912163/ https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/101333827762059394031 Join a group, different matches/events are advertised there and come out. I'm aware of the Bytown Boys and very interested. I met them at the last Fury game. I volunteer for them, so I came over and spent 2nd half with them. El Hombre
The best part about last night at Gracie's was Jon's astute observation about the Canadian team about halfway through the game: "To be fair, they're not completely awful."
Fussball_eh
Also, I just wanted to point out that El Hombre is wrong in thinking that it wasn't a penalty. In my view, it was an obvious penalty and a stupid foul by SAmuel Piette, who had another defender there covering him anyway. Totally unnecessary foul. Voyageurs Lesson #1: Our players never do anything wrong. It is either the ref's, the diving opponents' or the CSA's fault. Voyageurs Lesson #2: It's always easiest to just agree with El Hombre. Tuscan
If all things work out, next time there is a national team game out east or west and all of you guys from Ottawa and all of us from Sask are there, we must put together a Sask vs. the Nation's Capital soccer match. I reckon we could take ya. Quite frankly, we'd just keep the ball as close to Al as possible as Lars told me he's a pylon.

And Lars doesn't know what he's talking about; a pylon has more lateral movement than me.
