Jackson just released.

From his twitter feed:

@JacksonSimeon: Thanks for all the warm msgs. It's been an amazing 3 years here at the club for me and I want to say thank you to all the fans!! #OTBC

I don't think he got released. His contract was up and Norwich didn't re-up his deal.

Yeah. The club issued a list of ten players that they were letting go. Just making it official I suppose. I thought it might be worth a thread to discuss where he lands.

Simeon could do well in MLS of course, but he'll surely make more money in England. I'd be surprised if a Championship team or 5 weren't looking at him closely now.

I'm not sure he'd be a lock to be a success in MLS. Not to bad mouth him, I'm just not sure it would be a foregone conclusion. Staying in England makes alot of sense.

Could see him being on the map for Palace as a Zaha replacement.

There are quite a few Charlton supporters who want him in especially since we've released strikers Danny Haynes & Ricardo Fuller and likely Bradley Wright-Phillips. I'd like to think Charlton would sign him up; I'd also like to think Charlton could do better than Simeon (but that's the non-Voyageur part of me talking).

You're a Charlton supporter? Really? Anyway, I'm in the "Addicks could do better" crowd, although Jackson does have appeal as a younger Fuller-type who can do some dirty work and poach goals but isn't much of an all-rounder and shouldn't be used every day.

The biggest shock is you guys didn't know you both supported Charlton!

How come you haven't told me, Gator? :-)

Yes, Lord Bob, been an Addick since the Lennie Lawrence escapology acts in the mid 80s, then was a season ticket holder when we ground shared with the Hamsters at Upton Park and head back every year or two for a match. Was at Cardiff and home v Wolves last month. Good times in the Championship.

Not all that shocking. I, for one, wouldn't mind Leicester taking a run at him.

Nottingham Forest also interested ?

"Ward was one of ten players released by Norwich – and Forest are also understood to have a growing interest in another of those, in striker Simeon Jackson.

The Canadian international, 26, also played a key role in the Canaries team that won promotion two years ago, scoring the winning goal that secured their place in the top flight."
