TFC07
Acc to Wikipedia India has almost 20 million Sikhs and Canada almost 500,000. Checked as I found these statements pretty odd. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikh I said percentage wise.
TFC07
FIFA says yes to the turban http://www.radio-canada.ca/sports/soccer/2013/06/14/002-fifa-decision-turban.shtml http://www.ledevoir.com/societe/actualites-en-societe/380831/la-fifa-confirme-a-l-association-canadienne-l-autorisation-du-turban - the FQS calls a press conference for tmrw @ 10AM I'd say that some politicians have egg on their faces now Quebec soccer in general have egg on their faces. Now the issue will be what CSA will do with QSF president.
Olympique_de_Marseille
It is done. The QSF says YES to turbans based on the ruling by FIFA: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/story/2013/06/15/quebec-montreal-turban-ban-announcement.html
Vancouversoccerman
We're done too...CSA brings them back. http://www.friendsofsoccer.com/?p=
TFC07
I am sure CSA is upset at QSF for not recognizing their authority. If FIFA hadn't stepped in, then this ban would have still went on. Question now is what is CSA going to do with QSF (especially their president who sits on CSA board of directors)?
Macksam
I mention percentage wise. Sikhs make up 1.5% in Canada while in India 1.8-2.0%. Sorry, I didn't see that initially.
Wingback6
It would appear there is more to this than meets they eye. Apparently the QSF knew of FIFA's stance last September but went ahead with the ban anyway!! http://blogs.montrealgazette.com/2013/06/16/the-soccer-turban-controversy-it-started-with-a-lie/
Free kick
It would appear there is more to this than meets they eye. Apparently the QSF knew of FIFA's stance last September but went ahead with the ban anyway!! http://blogs.montrealgazette.com/2013/06/16/the-soccer-turban-controversy-it-started-with-a-lie/ Looks, as i suspected all along, like the FQS is is taking the fall for all of this. If the FQS knew all along why would they trot out the excuse that they were following FIFA. This was all political. Nothing to do with soccer. I'd love to hear from the Quebec minister responsible for this dossier. Did she or did she not interfere with the QSF. I suppose we should now go back to Jason Kenny's comments stating that: its a shame at its has to come down to politics. It was all there and yet we didnt read between the lines.
