DJT
Guidelines for this thread In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for March 22-28, 2013. If you find updates posted in some other thread or on the other Voyageurs forum then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster. If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here. Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. If the news already appears in another thread (as per the previous bullet) then post your comments in that other thread, otherwise if you want to say something significant or if it is likely to generate replies then begin a new thread. Addona
England Singapore Geylang 1-3 Home United Jordan Webb SCORED the third goal for Home United in the 75th minute. Can anyone give a comparison as to what level the Singapore league is at? Below NASL? Below USL Pro?

nolando
Ben Fisk scored the first and set up the second in his Charleston debut a 2-0 preseason victory over the Wilmington Hammerheads: http://charlestonbattery.com/news/battery-defeats-hammerheads-in-pre-season-exhibition/ "The Battery finally broke the deadlock in the 69th minute with some neat midfield interplay. Quinton Griffith picked out Cuevas who played a ball in behind the Hammerheads defense to midfielder Ben Fisk. Fisk took the ball in stride and tucked a shot past Wilmington goalkeeper Joel Helmrick. Charleston doubled its advantage within five minutes as Fisk played in Cuevas on the left side of the box. Cuevas lifted the ball over the last defender and drilled a finish into the bottom right corner."
nolando
Can anyone give a comparison as to what level the Singapore league is at? Below NASL? Below USL Pro? I follow the table and some of the highlights and result and whatnot, and I figure the better clubs are similar to mid-NASL sides while many of the others must be no better than CSL. A handful of Canadians have walked straight over from average college careers or CSL and straight into first teams there, FWIW.
Keegan
Carreiro and Petrasso have been starting for QPR U21s lately. They both had the start in a 4-2 win over Brentford... Petrasso had a goal. The R's boss paid special tribute to Petrasso, who stole the limelight with an audacious lob from 20 yards. The goal was just rewards for another all-action display from the Canadian, who was joined on the scoresheet by fellow winger Mo Shariff. He added: “I’m really pleased for Mike because he’s an industrious player, he’s up and down all the time and he did well. “He took his goal really well too, it was a great finish." Grizzly
Di Chiara played the second half (came in at minute 41 as the game was two 40 minute halves) in a 2-1 snowstorm friendly victory of Torpedo against CSKA Moscow. Torpedo's game this week was postponed so they arranged this friendly against local rivals CSKA who wanted to keep their players sharp during the international break. A good opportunity for DiChiara to play against some top players such as Vagner Love who scored in the second half. DiChiara hasn't played yet in either of Torpedo's league games so far but he is still on the first team and has been on the bench so hopefully as the season goes on he will start to get an opportunity. It is a good sign he is still getting a half in a friendly during the season designed to keep the players sharp. You can see him a few times in the second half of this video of the game: http://www.fc-tm.ru/component/k2/item/1742-pfk-tsska-torpedo-moskva-goly-i-opasnye-momenty-video

Addona
Friend SCORED today the first of the match to give 1860 M. a 1-0 lead: http://www.firstrow1.eu/watch/177318/1/watch-fc-erzgebirge-aue-vs-tsv-1860-munchen.html He's playing well ... but he's 32, so not exactly a long term solution. Is he an option for the GC? I presume not since I don't think he was even called for the last camp. But I guess it'll be up to the coach ... oh, wait, we don't have one.
