That's good news, I just hope he wont be stuck on their under-20 squad for to long.... if he signs that is.

Dundee graduates youngesters fast. Look at Gauld and Roberstson, one moved to LIsbon and the other Hull, then there is John Soutar 17 and has 30 first team games. Average age of squad is around 24.

Michael Cox has moved to Atletico in the Portugese second division

I've tried to get some kind of confirmation about this, but I can't. He's not on their website, there isn't any news about him, nor has he played in the couple of matches Atletico played this far.

 

Either it was just a rumour, or they pulled a Piette on him. Hope he surfaces soon though.

Racing Ferrol now has Piette listed on soccerway. Usually that site is pretty correct and when it in't, it's players that used to play there and haven't found a new club yet. Maybe they were able to give him a small contract or even got him registered as an amateur player. Let's see if he appears in their line-up against Langreo today.

Started on the major changes to the list for the new season.  Started with who was already on the list, changing teams, removals, etc...will be making the new additions shortly.  Just this part took over 4 hours, with fact checking, but that doesn't mean it's 100% accurate.  

 

If you have proof of anything wrong with the list, please post links that are recent!  I won't change anything without proof.

Another hour and a half of work...

 

This time to address comments added to thread since July, for everyone helping with the list.  Note that anyone already on the list has already been changed and added accordingly, so any NEW notes here are for players I didn't check.  Thanks to everyone else that was helping note the switches.

 

First of all, note that for those asking to add USL-PDL or any tier even lower than that in the States, I'm tracking US to 3rd tier.  Anything lower can be a separate created thread tracked by someone else.  The logistics of trying to keep current on the Canadians and half Canadians on a couple hundred clubs is a task to itself, that deserves its own thread, and own handler.

Regarding Alex Hainault, thanks youllneverwalkalone for the update.  Looking further, it appears Gimo IF is actually 6th tier Sweden, which is called Division 4.  Even at 4th tier, though, it would still be too low generally to track for my list, as such players can be very difficult to confirm. (although Sweden is certainly easier than other countries)

 

Thanks Lazlo for mentioning Johnny Grant.  Found no evidence of him actually signing for Genk, post trial, honestly I didn't put a lot of effort into this one as Sigma FC are particularly notorious for over exaggerating trial opportunites, no offence intended to Sigma.  

 

Digz, in regard to the U-17 players from Team Canada you mentioned, I can't find out which team they are for sure on.

As you can see here, and as others mentioned, even on Fulham's U-18 page, Harry Paton is not listed, but I imagine that is for legal reasons as he is still a minor.  Can anyone help me more on this?

As for those other players, I just need more info :) I agree with jpg, Canadasoccer is never a reliable, up to date source.  

 

Luka Gluscevic JPG are you saying I need to make an addition here?  I'm sorry I don't even know which country RAD 98 is in (I imagine Serbia), I'm typing it in searches and it's blanking me.  Just spent 10 minutes looking for this then said "f!@$ it" lol  My guess is you are talking about players born in '98 not a club founded in 98 so unless you correct me I'll ignore this one for now.

 

For Manolache, that's awesome JPG, About Ligue 2 U-17, very happy for him and that opportunity there!  Going at least U-18 for the list currently right now, for easier searching, but we'll keep an eye on him.

 

And last but definitely not least, Cox and Piette WILL be added to their respective teams soon, just waiting on final confirmation for both!

Is it just me or does it seem like we have fewer players abroad than 5 years ago? Both in quantity and quality of league.

 

I think that is a result of more opportunities in US and Canada.  That...and my list, unlike some previous people who did the list, has some limits on who it can involve.  I only use U-18 and higher players, and certain tier players, so the list may be shorter because of that as well.

Piette is not at Ferrol. Look at the time it was "confirmed" by transfermarkt. It's before thee situation got complicated. Ferrol's official website mentions their 18-man squad with 9 newcomers and no Piette mentioned.

 

Ah roger that, I have been gone a lot last couple weeks, what are these complications?  VISA issues, etc?  Man, can't a Canuck get some love?

I agree. If the three MLS sides were predominantly Canadian it would be different, but I think you are spot on in that most guys on even the short form of this list are playing in leagues no better than NASL or USL Pro. We were indisputably a much better side when peppered with starting options drawn from the top flight leagues of places like Denmark, Norway, Scotland and Switzerland, superb leagues or not.
