Kezmancccc
Carreiro is trialing with Dundee Utd in Scotland That's good news, I just hope he wont be stuck on their under-20 squad for to long.... if he signs that is.
jordan
That's good news, I just hope he wont be stuck on their under-20 squad for to long.... if he signs that is. Dundee graduates youngesters fast. Look at Gauld and Roberstson, one moved to LIsbon and the other Hull, then there is John Soutar 17 and has 30 first team games. Average age of squad is around 24. shamrock
Michael Cox has moved to Atletico in the Portugese second division Eric de Sousa @GluArgIleCys 15h @Canucks_Abroad Michael Cox did not dress for Atletico though Sean Clarke @sean_clarke7 9m @GluArgIleCys @Canucks_Abroad whats this about Cox? No longer at KuPS? Eric de Sousa @GluArgIleCys 7m @sean_clarke7 @Canucks_Abroad He has moved to Portuguese club Atletico that plays in the portuguese second division I've tried to get some kind of confirmation about this, but I can't. He's not on their website, there isn't any news about him, nor has he played in the couple of matches Atletico played this far. Either it was just a rumour, or they pulled a Piette on him. Hope he surfaces soon though.

shamrock
Racing Ferrol now has Piette listed on soccerway. Usually that site is pretty correct and when it in't, it's players that used to play there and haven't found a new club yet. Maybe they were able to give him a small contract or even got him registered as an amateur player. Let's see if he appears in their line-up against Langreo today. madmonte
Started on the major changes to the list for the new season. Started with who was already on the list, changing teams, removals, etc...will be making the new additions shortly. Just this part took over 4 hours, with fact checking, but that doesn't mean it's 100% accurate. If you have proof of anything wrong with the list, please post links that are recent! I won't change anything without proof.

I had to search on this alone for 15-20 minutes before I just went to Unaio Montemor's page and found this http://uniao-montemor.blogspot.ca/ with Gomes picture on the first squad. Changed Anthony Osorio color code to blue in Uruguay. Reason...now has Uruguay flag as nationality listed on the club's website http://www.nacional.com.uy/mvdcms/catplantel_53_1_1.html
madmonte
Another hour and a half of work... This time to address comments added to thread since July, for everyone helping with the list. Note that anyone already on the list has already been changed and added accordingly, so any NEW notes here are for players I didn't check. Thanks to everyone else that was helping note the switches. First of all, note that for those asking to add USL-PDL or any tier even lower than that in the States, I'm tracking US to 3rd tier. Anything lower can be a separate created thread tracked by someone else. The logistics of trying to keep current on the Canadians and half Canadians on a couple hundred clubs is a task to itself, that deserves its own thread, and own handler. ADDED Emmett O'Connor - Crawley Towne (English League One) (3) (Thanks to Blackdude) Simon Thomas - Newport Country (English League Two) (4) (Thanks Shermanator) Jamar Dixon (Finnish Kakkonen Lohko Pohjoinen) (3) (Thanks Xman14) Elliot Godfrey - Wealdstone FC (English Conference South) (6) (thanks dannhino) Andrew Gray (Finnish Kakkonen Lohko Pohjoinen) (3) (thanks narduch) Mark Anthony-Kaye - Wilmington Hammerheads (USL Pro/MLS Reserve) (3) (on loan from Toronto FC) (Thanks DigzTFC) NOTES Paco Deckers having dual citizenship - thanks shamrock for the note on Deckers possibly having dual Dutch citizenship (back in March), and thanks SCF08 for the clarification of him as a full Canadian. For now, his color code will remain black, as will all players who have actually chosen to wear the red. Deckers has participated in Canada U-17 as recently as last year. http://www.canadasoccer.com/canada-m17-announces-roster-for-february-camp-p153153 Regarding Alex Hainault, thanks youllneverwalkalone for the update. Looking further, it appears Gimo IF is actually 6th tier Sweden, which is called Division 4. Even at 4th tier, though, it would still be too low generally to track for my list, as such players can be very difficult to confirm. (although Sweden is certainly easier than other countries) Thanks Lazlo for mentioning Johnny Grant. Found no evidence of him actually signing for Genk, post trial, honestly I didn't put a lot of effort into this one as Sigma FC are particularly notorious for over exaggerating trial opportunites, no offence intended to Sigma. Digz, in regard to the U-17 players from Team Canada you mentioned, I can't find out which team they are for sure on. http://www.fulhamfc.com/under-18s/2014_2015/league/home/brighton-and-hove-albion As you can see here, and as others mentioned, even on Fulham's U-18 page, Harry Paton is not listed, but I imagine that is for legal reasons as he is still a minor. Can anyone help me more on this? As for those other players, I just need more info I agree with jpg, Canadasoccer is never a reliable, up to date source. Luka Gluscevic JPG are you saying I need to make an addition here? I'm sorry I don't even know which country RAD 98 is in (I imagine Serbia), I'm typing it in searches and it's blanking me. Just spent 10 minutes looking for this then said "f!@$ it" lol My guess is you are talking about players born in '98 not a club founded in 98 so unless you correct me I'll ignore this one for now. For Manolache, that's awesome JPG, About Ligue 2 U-17, very happy for him and that opportunity there! Going at least U-18 for the list currently right now, for easier searching, but we'll keep an eye on him. And last but definitely not least, Cox and Piette WILL be added to their respective teams soon, just waiting on final confirmation for both! madmonte
And finally, after 7 hours straight of editing and confirming (and a little more noticing I have some replies to respond to) here are my latest additions. Okay, as usual I went hunting for my own confirmed additions, and here they are. ADDED Paris Donald Gee - NK Rudes (Croatian 2.HNL) (2) Gabriel Jacques Colin - NK Rudes (Croatian 2.HNL) (2) Mikaël Cantave - USJA Carquefou (French Ligue National) (3) (U-19) Marek Malamura - FC Augsburg II (German Regionalliga Bayern) (4) David Andreychuck - Memmelsdorf (German Oberliga Bayern Nord) (5) Victor Oppong - TSV Amicitia Viernheim (German Verbandsliga Baden) (6) Latwayne Anderson - FK 1625 Liepaja (Latvian 1 Liga) (2) Rick Carreira - Blue Boys Mulhenbach (Luxembourg Promotion D'Honneur) (2) Jordan Hamilton - CD Trofense (Portuguese Liga de Honra) (2) (on loan from TFC) (this one was mentioned in a different thread than the Canucks Abroad thread as well, I believe) Boban Kajgo - OFK Balkan Mirijevo (Serbian League Belgrade) (3) Samuel Piette - Racing Ferrol (Spanish Segunda B Group 1) (3) Miguel Romeo - Caledonia AIA Fire (T&T Pro League) (1) (Trinidad and Tobago...it's possible this one MAY be outdated) NOTES Carreira I had JUST taken off the list, but then found him Oppong I'm glad to add back, he was relegated OFF the list this time last year, and now his team is promoted back on. Note about NK Rudes - For those that think that name looks familiar Taj Sangara was there, and is still listed there on soccerway, but he does NOT play there this year. Kajgo reappears, is listed incorrectly on transfermarket. I rely too much on this resource, on soccerway he is listed in Bosnia, but hasn't played there since 2012. For those curious, Dominic Imhof is still playing for FC Bazenheid in 5th (4th?) tier Switzerland. Too low for the list. And finally Samuel Piette IS official! http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/samuel-piette/profil/spieler/189019
madmonte
Phil Appiah was on trial at Hayes & Yeading last month: I have contacted the club to see if he is still there. Thanks, let me know! Great job man! Did I miss Fisk? Cause I thought he was the one in Spain that was confirmed.. Edit: It was Coruxo FC. From his twitter yesterday: "Very excited for our season opener against Marino de LuancoUnfortunately due to complications with my international transfer I will unable to play, but I am looking forward to a great performance from my colleagues as well as getting to know some of our fans for the first time! " Very close to finalized it sounds like, but chickens/hatched/all that 2nd Edit: You know what, it's all but official, I'll add it, and in the unlikely case the deal falls through, I'll just redelete. Rick Carriera seems to be confirmed at FC Blue Boys Muhlenbach: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-blue-boys-muhlenbach/startseite/verein/30400 They play in the Luxemboug second tier Division of Honour. http://lu.linkedin.com/pub/rick-carreira/47/750/ab Yeah I found it too See my above post Graham Fisher confirmed as left Harps: http://www.finnharps.com/fhfc/?p=960 Yep I got that one Is it just me or does it seem like we have fewer players abroad than 5 years ago? Both in quantity and quality of league. I think that is a result of more opportunities in US and Canada. That...and my list, unlike some previous people who did the list, has some limits on who it can involve. I only use U-18 and higher players, and certain tier players, so the list may be shorter because of that as well.

nolando
Is it just me or does it seem like we have fewer players abroad than 5 years ago? Both in quantity and quality of league. I agree. If the three MLS sides were predominantly Canadian it would be different, but I think you are spot on in that most guys on even the short form of this list are playing in leagues no better than NASL or USL Pro. We were indisputably a much better side when peppered with starting options drawn from the top flight leagues of places like Denmark, Norway, Scotland and Switzerland, superb leagues or not.
