Apparently, Fernando Aguiar is back playing after a 5 year break.... and at the age of 41.

He signed back in November 2013 with Pedroucos in Portugal.

It is pretty interesting to read the article about him even through google translate. Given the problems he had with various coaches and players as well as with various posters here when he used to post, I found the following humourous:

'I looked in the mirror and not see a possible coach there. Now I think different way. There are players who just make this transition, go immediately to coaches, but it also forces working behind the scenes, to get along with certain people. I'm not like that. '

He seems to stand pretty low on the depth-chart. They misses a lot of players and he only got on in the second half.

Anyway I saw another interesting name on that team: Daley Sinkgraven. He's a son of Harrie and he's already had first-team appearances. Totally irrelevent but interesting nontheless.

What tier of football is this in Portugal, even? wiki has them at divisao de honra, which sounds regional, fine, but the (freshly minted) soccerway doesn't list what tier they play in, they seem to only track the first four tiers in Portugal, so I'm a little lost here. Transfermarket still has Aguiar as retired, which isn't helpful lol

Made a few additions as well.

His club plays in AF Porto Divisao de Honra, which is the 5th tier in Portugal. Currently the club sits in 3rd place, with the season scheduled to resume this weekend.

just got word that Gino Mauro, last with Minnesota in NASL, has signed a contract in Sweden with Bodens BK, who play in Sweden's Division 2, which is the 4th tier of Swedish football.

here's a link that shows that he recently played a match with them.

I got word from his family that he has agreed to terms with the club. Good luck to Gino.

That's encouraging. I thought he might have given up the game.

Di Chiara is unemployed again: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/joseph-di-chiara/leistungsdaten-vereindetail/spieler_181116.html

For visual confirmation he doesn't appear on the Torpedo Moscow squad page: http://fc-tm.ru/team/composition (Hope I have that right)

What an enigma. But at barely 22, this kid must have tremendous upside, no? Some decent footballing minds have seen something in him, presumably.

I would be willing to wager that he falls under the "eurosnob" category, meaning he'd rather play in the Romanian fifth tier before entertaining North America, but I'd love to see a guy like this make the rounds as a trialist in MLS. Is he hungry enough? What are his skills like even?

A kid named Kennedy Owusu-Ansah will be playing for FC Inter of the Finnish Veikaussliga (1st level). For me this midfielder is an unknown, but he's spend some time in Finland (in the second and third tiers respectively).

Not an unknown. He was involved with our 2007 u20 team. Yallop gave him a trial at San Jose years back too.

Wasn't he or his team involved in match fixing in Finland a couple of years ago?

Yeah I remember this guy. Went through the NTC-Ontario program with Attakora and is the same age. I actually remember thinking he was the better prospect (he was also a defender) at the time. He also spent a brief spell with RSL a while ago, although I can't remember if this was a trial or time spent with the acadamey/farm team.

Gotta think that some strong preformances now will put him in Floro's CMNT window.

Got a link? Trial or contract?

He's listed on soccerway.com as a member of their 2014 squad. Usually soccerway is pretty reliable, but in this case especially so because they show data (games played) about him for the 2012 and 2011 seasons, but not from the 2013 season. So I guess he's signed a contract with Inter for at least the upcoming season.

Yeah I mean if it's on soccerway, it's probably ok, it's one of my main resources too. Odd that it wouldn't be on Inter's website, though...I'll add for now but keep an eye on it.

Don't add it. League Cup games have trialists and it's like Adam Straith or Pierre-Rudolph Mayard last year.
