DJT
Guidelines for this thread In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for February 22-28, 2013. If you find updates posted in some other thread or on the other Voyageurs forum then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster. If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here. Doesn't Atlantas have a couple Canadians on it? Do you know if any of them played? Also Tosaint Ricketts played 68 minutes in Sandnes' preseason win over Sogndal and had a couple good chances. Grizzly
Doesn't Atlantas have a couple Canadians on it? Do you know if any of them played? Also Tosaint Ricketts played 68 minutes in Sandnes' preseason win over Sogndal and had a couple good chances. You are right that there are a couple of Canadians listed with the team both on Wiki and Transfermarkt. I am not familiar with these players but they are 23 year old keeper, Maximir Luburic and 19 year old striker, Nathan Smith. Torpedo's site does not list the opposition players for any of their friendlies. I checked on Atlantas site and neither player is on the team list nor are they listed in an article that states the players the team took to Turkey. There is no information on the match with Torpedo either. It seems probable that both players have left the team.
Alex_K
In the 2.Bundesliga, Rob Friend's 1860 Muenchen took on Randy Edwini-Bonsu's Eintracht Braunschweig. Edwini-Bonsu came on in the 69th minute with his side ahead 1-0. Friend, who played all 90, scored the tying goal at 77 minutes and a teammate later scored to give Muenchen the upset win. Not that much of an upset - Eintracht has had to replace 3 to 5 starters (not always the same) for every single game since fall, and it has already shown during the last few games. Randy was back in the squad partially because of Ademi's injury (and Kruppke and Korte not being back yet). His substitution didn't work at all again, and once he came in things really fell apart (which by no means was his fault alone). Kicker wrote on monday that "especially Randy Edwini-Bonsu has shown, that he doesn't have the quality for higher level 2. Bundesliga play". Grizzly
Mixed ratings from Kicker for our Canadians in Germany. Friend and McKenna both scored and both received the very good mark of 2 which means they also played very well in addition to scoring. JDG received a 4 which is a bit below average while Occean received a bad mark of 5 for his 45 minute second half appearance. DeJong and REB did not play long enough to receive a mark from Kicker which seems fortunate in REBs case. Straith stayed on the bench this week. JamboAl
wow, when he joined the club they were second last. And maybe that's why he's not playing much. I hate to say this, but I'm not sure the Ross County experiment is working out for André so far.

VWFC
wow, when he joined the club they were second last. Perspective. There are only 12 teams, they've gone 10th to 4th in 6 weeks. Greatest Cockney Rip Off
Perspective. There are only 12 teams, they've gone 10th to 4th in 6 weeks. There's only a 13 point spread between 2nd and 11th. They went from 11th to 4th. It may be a short point difference but the real achievement is passing 7 other teams in the standings which is a lot harder to do than make up a point gap. It not only requires you to win but the other teams to drop points. It's a great achievement. Thye also have a game in hand over most teams. What an inane disagreement, guys. And I still think think it was a terrible career move.
