TFC07
Good team to play against to get a Win. Nice to see Canada playing in that part of the world for couple of games. Well done CSA!
Keegan
Agreed, nicely done with another two solid matches. Now to get that coach...
Sam
Belarus was a good prep game a few years ago when Hainault scored the winner, nice to see us playing them again.
madmonte
If the complaint against the CSA in the past had been that we needed more friendlies, everyone has to admit that they are delivering big time this year so far.
Gian-Luca
Good stuff, they won't be pushovers by any means (especially since we don't know what level of strength our own side will be).
Olympique_de_Marseille
Belarus was a good prep game a few years ago when Hainault scored the winner, nice to see us playing them again. Good opponent. If I remember correctly, last time the venue was an almost empty stadium in Turkey that was later involved in a match-fixing probe. Hopefully both teams will play well, the games will be open to the public and there will be no shenanigans. Doha > Antalya So I assume both games will be broadcast on Canada's favourite soccer channel out of Qatar beINsport?
Dub Narcotic
I hate to say it, but looking at the team involved and the venue, fix was the first thought in my head too.

And then didn't we play someone in Cyprus recently too?
Blackdude
That was the Macedonia game, wasn't it? And then didn't we play someone in Cyprus recently too? That was Armenia. I rember that prior to the Belarus game there was a fix scandal coming out of Turkey, where the game was played.
Jcm144
the more frinedlies, the better. We are not used this to the amount of friendlies we are getting, this is a normality for other nations.
Olympique_de_Marseille
It's in 20 days and no word from the CSA. Is this still going ahead?

Joe Keeper
I imagine Dasovic will coach. If he does I hope its only for this camp. He may have some potential but after seeing his management of the u-20's there is no way he is ready to be considered for the full time job (nor is Pesch). I would prefer to see Miller again for this camp. I think he deserves it. I'm glad the CSA is taking their time on this search. It is absolutely imperative the CSA gets the right man for the full time job this time around. Another sh%t hire could set us back another 2-4 years, again... nolando
Don't like that Gavin Day mentions the second match (Belarus?) as only a possibility. (Not on the CSA site that I can see either, although still on FIFA's): Gavin Day @gavinlday #canMNT to have squad announced this week for Japan friendly. Second game still a possibility. nolando
After today's match I'm tempted to drop Jakovic and de Jong, two guys who I generally like but who really didn't impress me vs. Japan. Both have been standouts in the recent past, though, and are young enough and playing high enough professionally to be mid range contributers, so I'd give them the chance to bounce back. Julian and Nik were okay but we know what they bring (and don't bring) and I would rather see some other bodies in their spot, to be honest. Borjan absolutely needs to sit down after this one so we can see Chencinski in the flesh and blood, and not for some crummy twenty minutes or something. We should be playing to win vs Belarus, which I think we were vs. Japan too, to Foncesca's credit. I'd like to see a lot of speed out there all at once. This also might be a good match to have Edgar driving those long hard crosses on the diagonal with Haber in mind. More of those shots from midfield from Johnson and Hutch. I've been calling out for those for years. Give Cebara some decent minutes too. He showed promise of a little something different in attack, like REB. --------------------------- Chencinski ----------------------------- Edgar --------------Hainault----------- Jakovic --------de Jong --------------- Johnson--------------- Pacheco ------------------- Ricketts----------------- Hutchinson ------------------ Edwini-Bonsu ---------------------------------Haber------------------------------- Morgan for de Jong de Guzman for Pacheco Cebara for Haber Jackson for Edwini-Bonsu Johnson as captain

ThiKu
Yep definitely need to see Chenchinski play the next 90. As for the rest, ya, every player needs to get a full 45 minutes consecutive over the two games. So certainly a guy like Morgan should be starting v. Belarus. jonovision
^ Morgan might deserve to play, but I'd be wary of letting him play in the back four. Has looked really naive defensively in the three TFC matches.

Interesting to see if Fonseca thinks Cebrara is a target or a winger, because he played LAM last game. I think he did pretty good in that role too considering it was his first international. I wouldn't be upset to see Ricketts dropped, REB shifted, and Cebrara at the LAM role again.
