whale_31
Potential Line-up Frei Ecks O’Dea Califf Morgan Bekker Frings Ceaser Silva Koev Hassli Subs K – Bendik, Roberts D – Assousmande, Henry, Emory, Hall M – Dunfield, Stinson, Lambe, Welshman F- Braun, Wideman Pretty thin up front considering Koev is out for awhile and Hassli wants out…. maccaliam
As long as Ecks and Morgan were encouraged to get forward, that could be a decent shout for a starting 11. Prob is if the fullbacks get pinned back, it is a very narrow line-up without much pace.
dobar dan
lets hope none of the starting 11 from that line up get injured......!......there are a few duds on the bench, though I would imagine there will be some players arriving and some being shipped out before the season kicks off
whale_31
Who starts up front for Koev? Braun? Or Silva maybe? Start Lambe on the wing? If they lose Hassli too, surely they will bring in some help up front.
rob.notenboom
Since the media day, looks like Hassli will be around.
jpg75
Wow, I still don't think we're going to win 10 games with that lineup. I'm not sold on the Califf - O'Dea partnership in the middle of the backline and that offense looks pretty pop gun...
ag futbol
If we actually put that lineup on the field we would be by far the slowest team in MLS. Wouldn't read too much into it at this point, there are definitely some changes coming.
baulderdash77
When I look at our line there's a few things that I keep thinking. 1. We are way too slow to play a flat 4-4-2 with Frings and Caesar playing as box to box midfielders. 2. I still don't think that Koevermans and Hassli can play together since they are both target men and slow. Also what are we going to do without Koevermans? 3. We really really need a wide player with some pace. It's obvious that we're still shopping for at least 1 and probably 2 more starters. However I do think we'd be better off playing 4-2-3-1 at least for now. It will take some ground to cover away from Caesar & Frings and compensate a bit for only having Hassli as a striker for now. ~~~~~Frei Ecks O’Dea Califf Morgan ~~~Frings Ceaser Lambe Silva Bekker ~~~~~Hassli That looks a bit better but ideally both Bekker and Lambe are key reserves. Grizzly
2. I still don't think that Koevermans and Hassli can play together since they are both target men and slow. Also what are we going to do without Koevermans? Braun is also a large and slow target man. One would think TFC would be in the market for at least one proven striker with speed to play with the target men. If not they really need an upgrade at wing on both sides and need to hope Bekker is ready to step into MLS right away. In the back and DM they are a bit slow with a few aging players who may be injury prone but still that is probably as solid defensively as TFC has been in a long time. Moving the ball up the field and scoring would be a problem with the current line up though.
baulderdash77
It's too bad that Plata is not with the team. He would double the # of wingers on our team. Actually a I wonder how Plata-Silva-Bekker would look as attacking midfielders together in a 4-2-3-1.
Dub Narcotic
Wow, that lineup looks, ... not good. Reports today that Hassli and Califf reported out-of-shape too. Payne had better splash that allocation money. I think Payne has done well so far, it just shows how awful that team was last year.

He looked like a 40 year old that spends all his free time at the pub. This signing could backfire big time..
