canadianfoot
Ok here is our first test some new faces, younger squad. Lets hope Herdman will find good replacements(still young obviously) that will learn from this http://www.epctv.com/channels/CCTV-5-Online-Watch-1172.htm. Sinclair is suspended just with the group(she and LeBlanc will play together in Portland in the new league)
canadianfoot
25th minute must say our defence makes too many mistakes. McLeod has to stay sharp even if no superb stops were made so far.

Lord Bob
It sure is easy to see why Herdman has been talking down expectations for these women. McLeod has been excellent. Schmidt and Scott have been okay, and not all the rookies have been bad given their inexperience. But through the first half it's amounted to a game Canada certainly doesn't deserve anything from, and it's not just a Christine Sinclair-sized difference. Olympique_de_Marseille
Why the backpass in the 59th?! Should she have shot at goal? SOOOO close. It sure is easy to see why Herdman has been talking down expectations for these women. He was wise to do so; but it was also expected. The team is in a rebuilding phase. I haven't been uber optimistic but I am not impressed. I roughly expected the current performance. EDIT: So Buchanan just got a yellow. Who else got one? I remember there being another. canadianfoot
Damn You CSA & Canadian Media!!! Watching Canada play China in MANDARIN on an feed coming from god knows where!!! EDIT: Sorry just can't understand why we couldn't even have that Tape Delayed when some 15yrs old hackers was able to provide us with a feed in Mandarin.... Lord Bob
She had a couple decent touches to beat players in the first half but god, Oduro just isn't at this level in terms of on-field intelligence or first touch. I just can't see her good no matter how hard I try.

Lord Bob
Very well-placed shot. The Chinese central defender was backing off way too hard against a teenage striker making her first cap; if a Canadian defended like that we'd have gone ape. Leon made her pay. Lord Bob
You know, the first half looked like a learning experience, but under the circumstances (ridiculously young team, quality opposition away that's had longer to prepare), the second half was excellent, averaging out into a game that was just pretty darned good for Canada. Well done!
The Ref
I saw Robyn Gayle being far more effective than grandma Wilkinson. I liked Prince too.

Mango
I saw Robyn Gayle being far more effective than grandma Wilkinson. I liked Prince too. Solid second half effort by the squad. I also noticed Gayle being a stabilizing force on the backline when she was subbed in. She had a great spark, was fast and made some smart runs. Great to see.
