DJT
Guidelines for this thread In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for December 14-20, 2012. If you find updates posted in some other thread or on the other Voyageurs forum then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster. If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here. Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. If the news already appears in another thread (as per the previous bullet) then post your comments in that other thread, otherwise if you want to say something significant or if it is likely to generate replies then begin a new thread. jpg75
Netherlands - Jupiler League Veendam 3 - 1 Helmond Sport Jordan Santiago played 90 minutes in the Veendam victory. We need another young goalie getting PT like a scurvy victim needs an Orange.
ditty
Olivier Occean starts and goes 87 minutes in Frankfurt's 2-0 win at Wolfsburg, their last game before the winter break. No goals or assists for him but he did have the honour of having his "crown jewels", as Kicker puts it, stomped on by Wolfsburg's Josue, resulting in a red card in only the 16th minute. Grizzly
Netherlands - Jupiler League Veendam 3 - 1 Helmond Sport Jordan Santiago played 90 minutes in the Veendam victory. Here is the video. Just to avoid any panic, that is Helmond's keeper (and defenders) having a stinker of a day right from the start of the video. Helmond is actually one of the better teams in the Dutch 2nd tier but they certainly didn't show it in this match. Not much Santiago could do on the goal against. Oranje
England - Jackson was an unused sub as Norwich defeated Wigan 2-1 - Edgar went 90 for Burnley in a 1-1 draw against Watford - Hume went 90 for Doncaster in a 1-4 loss to Coventry - Haber went 87 for Stevenage as they fell to Crawley 1-2 Germany - De Jong was not in the lineup for Augsburg's 1-1 draw against Furth
Grizzly
Not much action for Canadians today but a lot of action for Borjan in goal as he was under constant attack as Sivasspor lost 1-0 away to Kardemir Karabükspor. Poor performance by Sivasspor, a couple of good saves and a lot of luck as well from Borjan. No chance for him on the goal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DLs51zZSYw

That is a youth league so not really a professional appearance but thanks for the info.
gator
QPR reserves are playing Colchester today and Michael Petrasso and Dylan Carreira are on the subs bench, that is promising for the youngsters! Junior Hoilett is starting for the team FWIW!
maccaliam
Appears to be 5-1 at the half. Hoilett with a hat-trick after 33 mins. Hopefully the two young lads can get on for a bit in the second half. http://www.wearetherangersboys.com/forum/showthread.php?153202-Under-21-s-vs-Colchester&
gator
Petrasso comes on as a sub and scores for QPR in an 8-2 drubbing of Colchester!
youllneverwalkalone
This is a U21 fixture, not a cup match?
madmonte
What I'm getting out of this is that Hoilett is playing for the QPR reserves, after being bench fodder.
madmonte
In Cyprus, as an update, both APOEL and AEK Larnaca won, but neither Klukowski or Issey dressed.
maccaliam
This is a U21 fixture, not a cup match? It seems it was an U21 fixture. http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/171212-u21-report-549132.aspx

U21 teams are allowed to field 3 overage players - today it was Hoilett, Diakete, and Ben Haim.
madmonte
No, it was an u21 fixture. U21 teams are allowed to field 3 overage players - today it was Hoilett, Diakete, and Ben Haim. Okay fine. Let me rephrase. What I'm getting out of this is that Hoilett is playing for the QPR U-21 team, after being bench fodder.
gator
Hoilett really doesn't seem to be in Redknapp's plans so far and honestly has looked like anything but the saviour for Canadian Soccer that many were hoping even when he was playing, his hat trick in the reserves may serve a bit of notice though! Ruud
Ok - let's not knock the kid down too much on this board. He's young - he's got talent and he seems to have his head on his shoulders. Harry will make sure of that. Besides, I suspect that neither 'Arry nor Mark Hughes want to subject a youngster to what QPR has been going through of late. Losing is a bad habit.... Let's keep some perspective on things. Playing a reserve match or two doesn't say very much. If he ain't getting minutes off the bench, then it makes sense that he get some time elsewhere. madmonte
If he had his head on his shoulders he would play for his country when they are in WCQ. Exactly. We'll knock him down a bit out of bitterness that he wasn't here helping us with our WCQ, and rightfully so I think.
