Really CSA?- Canwnt has to sell pillow cases to fund its own team!

I thought with the men's team out of the picture now, at least CSA can divert some of the fundings into the women's program. If I am not mistaken, most of the Canwnt members are now promoting the sale of pillow cases that will directly go into the funding of the Canwnt players. This is not only disgusting but downright pathetic.

No need to divert funding from the canmnt team. The question should be where is the money going from the female membership fees. what is the canwnt sponsors putting up especially from Umbro (Nike sponsors the USSF $12M+ annually) and what new sponsors is the CSA after? If the CSA would break down their audited financials by gender and program we would find out how they play with the CSA membership monies and etc.

My guess is the CSA is once again relying upon Sports Canada and COC/OTP to fund (restricted funding) the canwnt. Out of all the funding the team gets this is the where the majority of the funding comes from and it's getting bigger as the funding is performance based. Coming into this next WWC and Olympic cycle the canwnt should have nothing to do with the CSA as the funding is not coming from them as they do squat as what does happen is the canwnt produces on the field in spite of the promises out of the CSA and get funding from those entities who are interested in the canwnt being leaders and role models for Canada's youth.

The players have as usual decided to do what they need to contribute some $ to pay for their stay with their parents. With no victory tour that might have keep the canwnt players busy and with coin up until the 4 Nations Cup they have to be creative doing clinics, appearances and others are playing overseas. Most now have agents to increase their commercial opportunities as all of the players are very marketable with being role models with a Bronze Medal around their necks.

Canwnt player contracts are up at the end of the year so the CSA better come to the table with something better than what they have in the past,,,,,just promises and a little a undisclosed bonus....lol. If the CSA makes promises and jerks the canwnt around again, they might have to find another team of players and explain to the Canadian public what the heck the CSA is doing with the sport.

I don't think this pillow case initiative is to try and "fund the team". It's to try and make some money. The women are famous, somebody has approached them with a chance to make a few bucks, and now they're going to try and get theirs. I see no problem here.

England sell pillowcases... and quilts,.. and Curtains and pretty much any other Domestic Bedroomware you can think of to stick in a childs Bedroom; as does Chelski, Man United, Liverpool Leeds united et al.

All of the FA goes money goes into the Funding Pool as its a Not For Profit Organisation.

Most of Man U's goes into funding the Glazers and that I'll advised Share floatation!

I think I'm with Lord Bob, but I can see if the reaction from Sinforpm and other is that this seems Pathetic and demeaning then the CMNT need to get a better "Pitchman" to sell the products (or the concept of products) better.

lulz, you can tell the middle two, where one is resting her head on the other's shoulder, were probably seeing each other at the time. :D

The one standing far left really doesn't have to cover her self up down there considering the camera can't get a clear view of that area. She was probably afraid of how much she might like female to female body rubbing.:P

Our ladies are looking to cash in on their newfound fame. most of them don't individually have a high profile so a project like this makes alot of sense. Hopefully there will be some ROI for them.

That was my thought too. If I were them I'd be hawking everything reasonable.

I think the Line of "Nemisis Dolls" would be obvious.

(By the way, if I see the words " THE NEMISIS DOLLS" on any College Band Concert posters I'm suing...right! :D)

Anyway Sincy Action figure:

* available in home and second Strip.

* Draw string action allows Sincy to "Call it as it Is!" (Includes Mea culpa speach)

* Draw back swing action on right peg for those oh so important hatrick shots!

Comes Boxed in Re, complete with ZENA Warrior Face mask and the severed leg of a mysterious oppostion member.

This thread is a perfect example of how a simple initiative of the players/team can be twisted and turned into a negative by people that wish to find gloom in a story. This has nothing to do with the CSA or the team itself, it's about the players doing something on their own and showing some entrepreneurial spirit. My compliments to them, and I may purchase one for a christmas gift. Nice idea.

No different than the very many player appearances that are happening across the country. I have no doubt that some of the players are making more money now than they would be if they were playing, and good for them. Doing some camps and corporate appearances is great for them, and the people that get a chance to meet them. And the answer is no, the appearance fees or camp fees wouldn't be used to fund the program.

My apologies. I was misled somewhat as I thought our girls were being asked to sell products to provide funding for its own team. Your idea sound great and I will totally buy your line of action figures.
