DJT
Guidelines for this thread In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for October 19-25, 2012. If you find updates posted in some other thread or on the other Voyageurs forum then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster. If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here. Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. If the news already appears in another thread (as per the previous bullet) then post your comments in that other thread, otherwise if you want to say something significant or if it is likely to generate replies then begin a new thread. Alex_K
REB does not make the matchday squad for Eintracht's game in Dresden tomorrow. He might play for the reserves, who also have a game at the same time. While Eintracht won 2-0 in Dresden, REB started for Eintracht II in a 1-0 away win over Osnabrück II. He was subbed out after 66 minutes and didn't score.

ThiKu
Seems REB isn't settling well in B2, eh? Hopefully they give him a full season to see how he does. Obviously Finland2 to B2 is a massive jump. After all it's the club who invited him and offered him a contract.

Should his role not change much in the next couple months, I wouldn't mind seeing him loaned out to a BL 3 club over the winter break.

Alex_K
Should his role not change much in the next couple months, I wouldn't mind seeing him loaned out to a BL 3 club over the winter break. The problem is, that his contract runs out at the end of the season. So before he can be loaned out, his contract would have to be renewed. As I said before - he's in a somewhat unfortunate situation. He's got talent, and he hasn't done anything wrong - but there are plenty of players who just offer more already. Orhan Ademi, who seems to have a lock on the second striker position right now, is actually younger than Randy, also came from a relatuvely obscure league (Austrian 2nd division) and literally secured his spot in his first minute on the field (when he scored the game winner against Cologne after a few seconds in his first game). Zhang is only third striker, and the guy was a starter in the Portuguese first division last season. Randy does ok to good when he gets onto the field, although he sometimes looks a little lost, but hasn't really made a case yet why he should be in the squad right NOW, over other players. And it's not as if Eintracht sucks right now.

Greatest Cockney Rip Off
England League 1 Stevenage 1 - 0 MK Dons Oct 20th Haber went 90 minutes as the loan striker. Got a few mentions in the match report, "Marcus Haber came close for Stevenage but his header was cleared off the line" "In the dying embers Smith’s side finally won a corner of their own after some great work from Haber in attack"
jpg75
Hm, game sheet on Transfermarkt said differently, thanks for correcting though! Soccernet says he went 90 also: http://espnfc.com/us/en/gamecast/statistics/id/355092/statistics.html?soccernet=true&cc=5901 But Soccerway says he was subbed out at 7': http://www.soccerway.com/matches/2012/10/20/uruguay/primera-division/club-atletico-juventud/racing-club-de-montevideo/1380937/ No Andres Fresenga in the squad for Racing. Fresenga must have some solid competition for his spot because I can't understand why he hasn't made a first team appearance yet, he looked good for us at U23s. It's a shame because if he could find some minutes somewhere he would probably be in contention for a MNT position. Based on the bit we saw from his at the U23s I think his style would suit MLS. Not a big Haber fan but he's definitely earned a call playing so many minutes for Stevenage week in and out. FWIW Robbie Rogers who is 2 years older and has 18 caps for the USMNT can't get into the team...
