Why has HART not resigned yet?

FFS. Hart, please resign. Walk away. Why are you still here?

I hope the CSA would not try to persuade him to stay if he does the right thing and resigns?

What is Hart waiting for?

Postscript: As I mention below this is catharsis following a tragedy, intended to stir discussion. Please stop reading this literally folks. Obviously, he just got off the plane yesterday, and it is somewhat rhetorical asking why he hasn't resigned yet. But, it will become an increasingly valid question if days start going by without a word from Hart or the CSA. Can we talk about Hart and his role and issues of honour, instead of throwing mud at each other?

He got home yesterday.

Whether he resigns today or at the end of the year, Canadian soccer won't be instantly cured.

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

That's wonderful, but Hart resigning before he steps off the plane won't speed up the process.

Like everyone else connected to Canadian soccer, he also needs to take a deep breath. It's fairly obvious (to me, anyway) that he's ready to fall on his own sword.

Lawyers could be involved. And assuming that Hart is not independently wealthy and his contract still may go for awhile, why would he resign without compensation? None of us would given the same circumstances.

Agreed. First, plane land. Second, take deep breath, go home. Third go to office, plan how to resign. Then, fall on sword. (Figuratively, of course.)

Voyageurs need to take a deep breath too.

Heart is a pawn (from the CSA). I don't blame him.... he should leave, but I don't blame him.

I blame guys that have the talent to help us get to the next level.. but instead of helping, they observed to see if we would make the hex.

Guys like , Hoilett, JDG2, Bunbury, Vittoria, Begovic, and much more.. not helping us to become a Soccer country...

With these guys we would have soccer hero's for the generations to come...

Those are the guys I blame.. They are complete as. hol.s and jerks for watching us fall.

I don't want to see them in Canada after this trying to play in the mls for one of our clubs or coach one our clubs or wanting to become a sport announcer.

I dislike them for making us beg for the help and watching drop like flies... The truth is without simpson, dero and occean... we needed backup and they did not care...

JDG2 is the worst.. for laughing in our faces... in his brother's face. And now what, you just screwed your brother for maybe fulfilling is biggest dream (WC).

I need to stop writing, I'm getting very upset... I remember watching the game against honduras in MTL for the 2010 campaign..

Honduran fans make me sick... and instead of giving it back to them.. we loose like a minnow... even st vincent and grenadines looked better against us 4 years ago.... WTF!!!!

Yeesh. More children on this forum than I realized. Kids, things will not be magically fixed with Hart's departure. If it will make you feel so much better when he resigns, then you're in for massive disappointment to come.

By his own admission Stephen Hart has 6 more months on his contract so he'll be gone before the next Gold Cup. I suspect he'll go much, much sooner. How the CSA intends to find a better replacement is the pertinent question.

I don't expect him to stay on but folks, give him a chance to sort out his departure! The longer it takes for some kind of statement from the CSA the worse it is and the more I would worry that they're talking him in to staying! I don't think it would be unfair for him to announce he is leaving but to stay on for the remaining 6 months of his contract!

So I misread that as "Hart steps of the plane before Landing"! that would be a tad drastic.

However in the case of the CSA board meh, not so much...?

Everyone needs to take a deep breath and wait a few weeks until

The CSA starts mapping out how they want the next 4 years to look.

This is how I feel as well.

I think Stephen mentioned that he had six months or so left on his contract and he is, by nature, the type of person to take time before making a major decision. He was very classy after the loss and is very well aware of the situation. There is also a chance that he may want to stay on with the CSA in another capacity. Personally, I thought Hart did some good things with our program and could still make a positive contribution in another position. Unlike most here, I certainly wish him well.

Let's be perfectly honest, these are not children that Hart was coaching. Many of the goals were scored simply because our players were not marking up. I would imagine that Hart's half time speech started with a chalk board and pulling out the Soccer Defense 101 textbook.

Yeesh. More nasty trolls on this forum than I realized. Ray, give it a rest with the condescension and personal insults. You wanna talk about the maturity level of others here, well trolling like that doesn't reflect well on your maturity level. FFS. Can't even post a friggin sardonic question here without getting **** on.

Magic fix? WTF? I don't care that Hart resigning today or tomorrow will not speed up the recovery process. Waiting out the remainder of his contract will certainly delay it, and would be completely dishonourable IMHO.

This is catharsis following a tragedy, Ray. Just piss off if you don't get that.

Don't disagree with this, but I do disagree with the idea that it would be ok to wait until Christmas.

And the man has done the decent thing and resigned. No surprise, just had to have a little patience. Stephen Hart is not the manager we need going forward but he is honourable. Thanks for your effort Stephen. I hope you can contribute to Canadian soccer's betterment in another role.
