Yeah I was shocked too. His tweet before said Lederwood in for Occean, but playing right side midfield, so I thought for sure one of Jackson/Ricketts would be out. I don't want to get negative tho, I liked the work Ledgerwood put in during the june match's, granted this is a much bigger match.

I don't like the 4-4-2, but Ledgerwood has been decent to good in every match he's played for Canada in 2012. He was an offensive threat against the USA; even scored a goal that should have counted.

Ya, I definitely have grown to appreciate Ledgerwood, as much as I find I am critical of him. However, he does seem like a safer option here, especially given his positional flexibility. I am thinking along similar lines to the posters below that maybe one of jackson or ricketts should have come out

I guess Ricketts awful display on Friday impressed Hart... seriously wasn't even in the same class as the other players.

I'm blown away as well. We are missing ALL (Simpson, Jazik, De Ro) of our Left Side Starters and we don't play a Starting Left Back playing 90 min every week in the Bundesliga. How does this guy get into the lineup?

The biggest day of my Canada watching life, and I have a seminar class I cannot get out of. Class at 3pm MT. I will watch as much of first half as possible, take cab to school and watching the rest of game when I get home.... I am leaving my cell at home so I am not tempted to check the score, I am not wearing my jersey today just because I dont want some deusch asking me about the team and ruining the score before I get home, no technology, no nothing.... I want to come home and watch this unfold myself.

This has to be our time lads, go on and do your best. Let all Honduras have failure on it's breath...

Out of curiosity, if Canada does qualify for the hex, for the rest of you, will it be as big or bigger than our GC 2000 triumph? I cant decide...

I'm probably as shocked about De Jong not starting as I was about Jazic becoming a starter, yet that worked out so I'm not going to cry out anything yet. Hopefully Hart is seeing stuff we are not and Nick is ready to have the game of his life.

I don't recall, did De Jong start in Panama? I know he played but I can't remember if that was due to DeRo coming out.

they might be starting both, De Jong is capable of playing the wing, for sure, and I would like him there. Part of Jackson's frustration was playing on the left side...did you see the one cross that came in where Jackson was in deep, and he ended up totally mis-hitting (had to hyphenate to avoid the swear) it with his left? Had that been reversed Jacko would have buried it.
