Tybalt
And as for the poor-meism here, guys: it's not about you. Support, or don't, but the "Goodbye, Cruel World" posts are laughable. Richard
Agree 100% What gave people cause for optimism for this game? We got ripped apart in Panama, we've only been able to score one goal - which wasn't from the run of play, outside of games with Cuba. One goal! Our one decent striker was unavailable, we were terrible without him last time. Can people accept that we're not very good now. The hex wouldn't be much better for us. Canuck in Boston
Embarrassment. This reminds me of the time TFC needed just a point against Red Bulls to get to the playoffs but lost 5-0. This is almost the same, chocking big time. If only we finished them off at home... huh? A match with an MLS never was, reminds you of our national team. Taranna does not equate to WCQ. Tybalt
At least maybe this will serve as a catalyst for some new blood. To me the undoing of the program was playing the same 16 guys for 4 years leading up to this and then playing the same lineup for every opponent. One striker loses form or you lose a player and the replacement looks so rusty and poor that either destroys the team. Also your opponents have literally no homework to do on your team. Especially when the national team is the highest level of play and the biggest opportunity for a lot of our guys. I understand what they were trying to do, but it failed. Addona
The funny thing is that this is true. A 1 goalless would have been something that gnawed at me for a long time. This sad capitulation just leaves me shaking my head. The score line would be comical if it wasn't so goddamned sad. Of course, the downside is that this single match could set our program back 10 years ...

SCF08
Think everyone needs to understand... Canada's Mens National Team just isn't very good.. and they never have been very good. On paper, yes. As a team, hell no. This team looks good on paper? How many players are playing for a decent Euro team? Hutchinson is by far the best player in Canada colours and he's just a Average Joe for PSV. It has to be said...how terrible this first half has been. Canada have come close to qualifying for the hex this time around. 1 goal at home to Honduras has been the difference between qualifying and being out. Instead of blaming the manager the focus has to be on developing a national strategy on how you want to play football and teach that to the youngsters. The small time mentality within Canadian football should disappear and there has to be a huge focus on technique training and keeping the ball. You don't deserve to win football games if you continously play like cowards in away games like this. Panama and Honduras aren't exactly world beaters but Canada have already given up before kick-off and start sitting back from the get go. It's a huge project to develop a national way of playing that is supported by all the youth coaches but it's the only way forward.

Tybalt
If they feel like they got their heart ripped out, dyslexic, why are they telling me they're going to **** off for the next n years, or forever. If you care, you care; if you don't, that's fine. But we are Voyageurs, right? And so WE STILL CARE.

When you have literally 1 midfielder who can keep the ball and show any slither of technique you know your team has a huge problem. Like I already stated nowhere was this clearer than against the Cubans when they had to press the advantage. The issue is with the Canadian football program and philosophy period, not a manager.
