If we get through on Tuesday, he will have a lot to do with it. Salute to the vet!

My only concern is that they will mark him heavily like Panama did. That however, should leave others more open to take advantage.

Tuesday will be tough, but one massive difference between that game and the Panama loss will be having Will Johnson around to make things happen if Honduras decides to mark Hutchinson out of the match. Also means Hutch has to be less of a box to box workhorse and can be more of a presence going forward than he was in Panama. Johnson frees up a lot of space for the rest of our midfielders. nolando
A scary question to ask is whether or not this might be his last qualifying campaign. He's obviously young and fit enough to be around in four or five or six years but the temptation of putting focus solely on his club career after his last kick at the can with Canada must be tempting, I'd imagine. jonovision
^ It's the end of the line for a lot of guys (De Rosario, McKenna, Jazic, De Guzman, Bernier, Occean, Klukowski, likely Hume, Hirschfeld, and a few fringier guys) but it would be difficult to replace a player of Hutchinson's class. jpg75
Hutch is awesome and if he's still capable i'm sure he'll be around for another cycle. He and Simpson (depending on the injury) are the two guys 29 and over that I could still see playing in 4 years time.
gator
He's been great for us over the years and once again in this round of WCQ, I wish we could have sang the Atiba song we did in 07 vs Costa Rica at BMO, it's to the tune of Tequila only we all sang Atiba! Call me crazy but I would still start him at RB in Honduras as unpopular as that is to many here!
madmonte
It's possible if Hutch played for TFC and went 10 games without scoring a goal, even if he played well, he'd get booed out of Toronto if he scored 0 goals, and even if he was scoring, for one negative comment, so that the fans could cheer on the richard eckersleys and the dan gargans and tie domis they so love. Toronto loves grinders. Sticky this thread as proof that sometimes Toronto actually appreciates talent too

Toronto loves grinders. Sticky this thread as proof that sometimes Toronto actually appreciates talent too This is not true. Plata is a fan favourite (arguably most popular TFC player) and he isn't a grinder. FYI, Eckersley isn't popular these days. Dan Gargan sucks and a lot of fans on boards I posted weren't high on him and they were glad he was gone. If Hutch isn't signed as a DP, then it will be hard for TFC fans to hate him. JDG is hated because of his contract (DP status) and fans except more from him for money he was getting paid to play for us.
madmonte
lol I'm talking more about what people say on Mlssoccer.com than on these forum boards, which usually host more educated fans, just for the record. You are definitely right about the DP thing, although they booed DeRo out of town as well, don't forget.
