alberta white
Key Points From the BBC website. The prime minister makes a "proper apology" to the families of those that have died. "I am profoundly sorry," he says The panel finds that a total of 41 people out of 96 "had the potential to be saved" beyond the 1515 time determined by the original inquest The report finds flaws in the police operation and new evidence that the police carried out checks on those who had died in order to "impugn their reputations" The report finds 164 statements were "significantly amended" and 116 "removed negative comments" about policing operation. Attorney general must decide whether to ask High Court for fresh inquest after report casts "doubt" on adequacy of original inquest A two-minute silence will be observed in Liverpool at 15:06, the time the football match in Sheffield was halted, and a vigil will take place from 17:00. Some people for many years had told Liverpol and its fans to move on and let this episode drop. One could argue that today vidicates the families and the Clubs persistence in the matter. ted
Even more importantly it finally puts the nail in the coffin of the rationale for all-seater stadiums. The fact that it was a standing section did not kill anyone. The fact that German stadia built since then have successfully incorporated safe standing areas shows it can be done. alberta white
The Potential now exist for the original Inquest finding to be quashed. and for further action to be taken against those surviving individuals who "amended" the witness statements. This act alone can be looked upon as leading to material pervertion to the cause of Justice. The scale of the thing may/ could be considered to be a conspiracy under the same act. I think we can look forward to significant Levison style "grand Jury" sittings on this subject for the next 12 months or so. In time to come there is now a possibility that someone could go to jail under the application of corperate manslaughter Legislation, as documents may have surface indicating that officials were warned about the potential for such an Incident to occur as early as 1981, but were not acted upon. However, Mackenzie has broken his scilence and appologies for "The Truth" so he can now crawl back under his stone.

I really like the modified rail seats they have in Germany; wouldn't be surprised to see them in more countries very soon.
alberta white
It has been determined that Hilsboro, didn't meet minimun saftey standards at the time, which the FA have now held their hands up for appointing the stadium for the Game. Elland road always had a good Terrance at the kop end, with barriers at the entry points which distributed the crowd onto the terrace where other barriers where set and designed such that no more than 20 prople would rest against them. Other than a lick of paint, I don't know if that terrace had been updated since before the Second World War?
