The U.S. women's national team had added a third date to its 2012 Victory Tour. The gold-medalists will host Australia in an international friendly Sept. 19 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. (TV: ESPN2, ESPN3, 10 pm ET).

The USA has never lost to the Matildas in 21 meetings (19-0-2 record).

The USA begins its Victory Tour on Sept. 1 against Costa Rica in Rochester, N.Y., Wambach's hometown and faces Australia on Sept. 16 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

NBC will broadcast both matches.

For those who think the CSA knows how to jump on an oppourtunity... here is your answer the USA puts on games ..... and we make videos of players in Airports... strike while the iron is hot, book games against the English in Vancover, against the Australians in Toronto and the French in Montreal ....how hard is it to do ?

Ticket price $15.00 bucks no discounts no team deals.

Potential draws Vancouver 15k @ 15 = 225,000

Toronto 20k @ 15 = 300,000

Montreal 18k @ 15 = 270,000

CSA are you up to it ?

USA should be inviting us to play them. You know, to show their victory in the semi-final was to fluke. ;)

But yes, CSA should try to keep the momentum going for the women's team. The key word being 'try'. In Canada you don't just snap your fingers and things happen when is comes to soccer.

Today in Ottawa... Angela Merkel is talking to the Prime Minister...about Free Trade and relationships....( yes she is asking that we help bail out Europe ), I can bet you if he asked, we could get the Germans for a game.

The English would love to play us.

The Aussies would love to play us.

France in Montreal before the provinccial election ... easy politics for Harper and Charest.... you just gotta make some calls, and reach out.

My neighbour, who makes 10 times as much as I do, just bought a Ferrari. If I don't also get a Ferrari, it's clearly a moral failing on my part.

This isn't just a celebration. It's a chance to build the brand and connect with fans who are feeling more passionate about the USWNT than they have in a long time. In Canada, the jump in attention is even more intense but won't last forever if the women's team fades into inactivity; you have to spend money to make money.

I doubt that CSA had even thought about the idea before the olympics started.

Can you blame them? The dramatic storyline, the public attention was the result of the heartbreaking loss to the USA (including Sinclair's one-woman offense and the infamous ref's decision). If Canada lose two-nil in the semi and then go on to win bronze anyway, there is nothing more than a one day story - not exactly grounds for a celebration if you're not a big soccer fan.

That's what I'm wondering about. A number of them are making small group appearances. Schmidt, LeBlanc and Zurrer were at the Whitecaps game yesterday. I know Kyle is busy is Saskatchewan, while a number of the girls from the east, like Moscato are doing some radio shows. However, Sinclair left BC for a few weeks for R&R and Tancredi didn't even return to Canada. She went straight to Sweden and I think McLeod may have gone with her. I don't think there was even discussion of a tour.

I don't know if anyone was really expecting the magnitude of what happened, so I don't think they were prepared. Maybe in the fall? Even waiting that long might hurt them though. The die-hards will remember, but I don't know if all of Canada will, especially with the possibility of no NHL hockey. That's going to be dominating the wires.

There are flights from Sweden.. set up game one in Montreal on Friday 31 August versus France.

Game two in Toronto on Wednesday September 5.

Game three in Vancover on Sunday September 9.

If no one was expecting the magnitude.... then are you saying we were not expecting to challenge for a medal ? I dont agree with that assessment, the CSA was and the COC was expecting a good result hence the Own the Podium investment. As a team sport soccer lends itself to a tour after the Olympics... 100 metre track or Trampoline does not.

Hit this hard now book the stadia tentatively .. call the FA, the Aussies and the French, get it done.

Call your corporate sponsors to ante up seed money if the CSA is broke and cant get cash flow to make this happen.

( Remember the CSA earned money on Liverpool in Toronto and Olympique in Montreal use some of that % to see this )

Get Umbro to produce special t-shirt.

Don't make excuses announce what you want .. go for it .. get the media hyped and behind it, three city's three games, three nights of adoration.

'Door open for Team GB'

.Thursday, 16 August 2012TweetAddThis plugin .Club England Managing Director says FA keen on Team GB Women's side for Brazil.

The FA has left the door open for a potential Team GB side to take part in the Women’s football tournament in Rio 2016 according to Adrian Bevington, Managing Director of Club England.

Earlier this week, FA General Secretary Alex Horne suggested that it was ‘unlikely’ that Team GB would be represented in football at the next Olympic Games.

However, Bevington insists that there is an appetite within Wembley Stadium for a women’s team to compete in Brazil in four years’ time, but there are still discussions to be had.

“Alex [Horne] probably did more than anybody to make sure we had teams taking part this summer,” explained Bevington. “It was a very complex process with the other home nations not really wanting Team GB to take part.

“So it’s not straightforward for us to just wade in and say it can happen or it can’t happen, and there’s a lot of football politics to go on before it can. What I would say, from a personal point of view, is the football tournament was a very strong tournament and the crowds were incredible.”

Indeed, Hope Powell’s Team GB Women’s side played in front a British record crowd for a women’s football match of 70,584 in their group game against Brazil at Wembley. In total, over 150,000 fans saw them in their four games before Team GB suffered quarter-final defeat to Canada.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Breakfast Show on TalkSPORT, Bevington added: “From a women’s side of things it would be fantastic if we could have a women’s team taking part in Rio at the next Olympic games as it’s undoubtedly the pinnacle of women’s international football , in conjunction with the World Cup as well.

“I know that the girls took so much out of it, and it’s lifted the profile of the women’s game in this country. So there are conversations that we’ve got to have both internally then with various other people from around the game to see where we can take that.

“But we’re not closing the door on it, we would be very keen to see the women’s team take part in future Olympic games.”

Not at all. The squad had a lot of momentum going into the Olympics and many knew they would do well. What I meant was, I don't know if all of the drama was expected to come from the semi-final versus the US. It was all pretty surreal. That captured the attention of a lot of people across the country, including non-soccer fans.

And I don't disagree at all. It absolutely should be set up.

I think that the CWNT should be playing some matches "soon" but it might be a good idea for the players to catch their breath after the roller coaster ride they were on. Not realistic to look at anything prior to the Men's team playing the home and away with Panama so we are looking at second half of September or early October. Personally I think the most intriguing opponent would be Germany since they sat out the Olympics and might be eager to play some friendlies against high level competition. They are also the only top 4 team that we did not play against this year. Their schedule in September has 2 qualifying matches for the Women's Euro Championsip 2013.

Date Time Fixture Venue

15.09.2012 3 p.m. ECQ Kazakhstan - Germany Karaganda

19.09.2012 5 p.m. ECQ Germany - Turkey Duisburg

Unfortunatley this is coming from the Organisation that forgot to mention that the FA Womens Superleague restarted this week and less than 300 people turned out for Doncaster v Everton. thats about have the average gate for the first half of the season. I do hope this creates a wake up call to promote the league otherwise there will be no further imput on the part of the FA to put money in the Pot for a trip to vancouver.

Its worrying that all the impetus they had going for them in the tournament, will be lost. The Croatia game at home may however prove if there is a market for International football outside of the tournaments. If not then GB2012 will be Just that. A one year wonder.

Was online tweeting with some reformers and CSA types, evidently the CSA has been discussing the possible need of a victory tour since Feb 2012. Since then Victor and Peter have been working on something that will showcase the team. I was asked to have some faith in the new BOD in getting this done but I stated it's hard to give any based on the number of times the CSA has not done anything with pass momentum over the last 13 years.

Personally. I'm very skeptical that anything will materialize based upon the CSA's need for money, lack of getting new sponsors, creating something sooner rather than later and if players will be around. Further a victory tour would be news to the players who are in the process of interviewing their offers in UEFA leagues or finalizing contracts or getting some R&R.

Unlike the uswnt program where they are full time pro's making more than a decent living on their NT, the canwnt players given past history with the CSA and their age have to look for semi-pro or pro or/and other careers to put food on the table. The practice of scrapping by, living at home and etc for another 3 and 4 years is not a happy one for the players as for some it's been 13 years now.

OTP and SC was a great funding opportunity for the canwnt last cycle ($1.6M) and this one ($5.6M). Sadly, there will be some issues due to the next cycle as OTP & SC will put more into the canwnt program which is what's needed to get to the next level. On the flip side the haunting question of what the CSA contributes out of the female membership fees of $4M annually and sponsors to the canwnt will come up again. IMO if the CSA doesn't come clean on how they fund the program of the genders, appearance fees, CBA and etc, things will get ugly before 2015

BTW If the CSA continues to have funding issues with building the sport maybe it's time the members and businesses created a Foundation to fund the grassroots of the sport. This is a common funding approach sports used to get around NSO like the CSA to fund grassroots projects.

Sorry Coach Rich if some of these folks would get off of Twitter and patting themselves on the back and get on the phone and fax sending out game invites to other federations we would have a tour.

Qualify for final four at Olympics... draft letters, win Bronze, send out letters faxed to National Associations, with one week deadline to say yea or nay.

Book venues tentatively with your soccer partners, MLSE, Whitecaps and Joey Saputo.

Seven days later you have choices of teams, have Herdman in office pick opponents, send confirming fax to National federations, arrange funds transfer for expenses with your Bank. Have bank extend line of credit against revenue stream of tickets for expense money.

Put out a press release.. put tickets up for sale on Voyageurs site, with TicketMaster availability five days later.

Let the party begin... Hype it daily...build momentum, call potential game presentation sponsors.... Kia... Harley Davidson... etc.

Its not rocket science, its selling the best lemonade on a sweltring hot day on beach where your the only vendor.
