Who will move up in the rankings and who will go down?

I see Canada gaining points and Sweden and Brazil dropping points. I don't know if the relative rankings will change. England might gain points but technically that was a team from Great Britain (what ever happened to the United Kingdom designation?). France played well but couldn't get the wins. The U.S. was the most fortunate (read lucky) of the teams participating. I wonder what the Germans thought of the whole show?

The fellow I linked to in post #3 has done a calculation of what it would mean to FIFA rankings if the Great Britain women's side had been treated as if it were the England side for purposes of calculating rankings.

He posted the implications for the points calculation and team rankings at Big Soccer:

Points:

Canada +30

France +3

USA, Cameroon + 1

New Zealand, Japan -1

England -14

Brazil -19

Ranking

Canada +3 (they would have been 4th)

Brazil, Sweden, France - 1

If anyone stumbles upon this thread and didn't already know, bear in mind that women's rankings use the generally-respected Elo system rather than the insane cluster**** that is the men's bracket. They're still not perfect; no ranking system ever can be. But they're predictable and generally not bad.

To Give it is full title It's <deep breath> The United Kingdom Of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Team GB or Great Britain rolls of the tounge more readily , dont you think?
