Powell believes that the Canucks, ranked seventh in the world, have improved their fitness under Herdman

Doesn't this make you wonder WTH we paid all those Italians for?

Anyone who wasn't wondering that at least a little already probably never will.

In my opinion, the women's rankings tend to be more accurate than the men's rankings because they use the Elo system.

Canada's also beaten England, and well, their last two times out. (England won in the 2009 Cyprus Cup, early in the Morace days). Scotland isn't really serious so the Great British crew should be stronger but still not world-beaters.

It's going to be an even match unless one team chokes, that's for sure.

In effect the womens game in England has undergone major route and branch reform; thing to note is that apart from Lincoln Ladies and the Bristol Academy. All the teams are associated with fully Pro, EPL and Championship sides. The National divison (2) is set up in similar fashion.

One would imagine that Pro-Rel will be on the agenda once stability is established.

The biggest obstacle being that the new top-flight (WSL) is a summer-based season, whereas the second-tier Premier League is a winter-based season.

And back on topic... is there any Canadian streaming radio coverage? Apparently The FAN Radio Network has Canadian Olympic radio rights, but Sportsnet AM 590 in Toronto only offers "updates", rather than entire-match coverage.

I'm at work, and don't want to resort to a dodgy internet video stream.

Apparently the BBC's commetary is available worldwide (after winning that concession from the IOC), but BBC 5 Live will be covering athletics and swimming.

Any help?

meant GB/Canada vs what pair. Quite early in the game still 2 goals are nice but GB looks still dangerous. Especially some of their long shots maybe off target slightly but still.

SAD to see soo many empty seats. hope we can fill all of ours in for the Womens World Cup. I know some people view the olympics as a "minor" tournament and the WC as....the WC lol
