Eintracht Braunschweig and Valencia drew 1-1. Randy came in in the 61st minute, when the score was already 1:1. He had chance shortly before the game was over. North Korean trialist Pak started the game, and all signs point to him being likely signed. This would make it even more likely, that Randy will play mostly on the wings, since there would be 4 centre forwards in the squad (Kumbela, Ademi, Merkel and then Pak).

^ Not a starter in the third tier even? Bummer. Good thing it's a long season.

Norway

Pozniak may be riding the bench off to the sunset as he was an unused sub again in Haugesund's scoreless draw with Sogndal.

Finland

Jonke played 90 for Jaro as they were scoreless with VPS

Singapore

Home United held Webb's Hougang to a 1-1 draw. Webb played 90 but didn't score.

Checked to see why he did not start and the coach said that this year they have 3 good CBs of a similar level and if they are all available he will start whichever two of the three fits better with the style of the opposing team.

Damn was hoping he didn't start because they were simply giving a young guy another look. I agree, doesn't bode well that he can't easily outshine other B3 level players. (At least in his coaches view...through our rose tinted glasses we are all like wtf)

I think it is better they didn't start him because of the coach's reason then giving another young guy a look who might turn out to be a really great player. I think he will get a lot of playing time this year, he started almost every game after joining them last year.

Hopefully, our depth at that position is not that great. A couple injuries and you have to start giving guys like Straith, Cann, Henry, Jakovic looks...we need them playing

Patrick Majcher started on the bench for Slask Wroclaw in a friendly with Benfica (game was on GolTV). Didn't watch long enough to see if he got on the field or not. Not sure if Kreczimski or however you spell his name was dressed either...

Patrick didn't play, unfortunately, given the 30,000 fans and the big name opponent: http://www.maisfutebol.iol.pt/benfica/benfica-carlos-martins-slask-wroclaw-melgarejo-witsel-resultado-final/1363047-1456.html

Norway

Hirschfeld started as usual for Valerenga, who beat Stabaek 3-1 and sit 5th in the Norwegian Tippeligaen. Lars is their top rated player (4th in the league) so far this season: http://fotball.ht.no/eliteserien/index.jsp?stats=true&type=team&teamId=165&mode=bors

Sweden

Stamatopolous backed up Turina again as AIK beat Atvidabergs 1-0. They are fourth in Sweden's Allsvenskan.

France

Haidar played the second half of Nimes last preseason match, a 2-2 draw with OM. (He let in the second goal. First choice keeper Merville returned early from injury to start and will likely start the season next weekend against AJ Auxerre):

Atiba was at RB for PSV in their 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao in a friendly. Not sure if he started, but he was on in the 2nd half. The game was shown on GolTV , appears as part of a tourny called the Polish Masters being played this weekend...

Really? Last I was seeing in this forum, it sounded like Peters was jobless with Ipswich, so this is good news!

No he has a valid contract. Ipswich just told him he wasn't in their plans and he was free to find another club which means they would like to get him off their books. However, if he stays they are still paying him so may still use him depending on how the season goes, he may go on loan or he may just train like happened to Stalteri. It is at least a positive sign he is still getting some minutes in pre-season. Hume is in the same situation.

Guest Brethers

They were looking into a termination of his contract last week, so there is still a possibility it will be terminated. Ipswich had two friendlies on the same day if I remember rightly, so he had to make two full sqauds. That is probably why Peters played

In case you're wondering, he played right back in what looked like a first choice lineup.

Yeah, it seems as though, given last year, they are trying to move him back there full time now! Eventually you have to wonder if Canada might end up using him in the same capacity?

Europa League Q's:

MYPA 0 - Rapid Bucharest 2 (1-5 on aggregate) O'Neill missed due to suspension. MYPA eliminated.

Senica 0 - APOEL 1 ( 0-3 on aggregate) Klukowski not registered for this stage. Presumably he can enter at the next stage as APOEL qualifies and move on to the third qualifying round.

Hafnarfjordur 0 - AIK 1 (1-2 on aggregate) Stamatopoulos on the bench. AIK advance to the third qualifying round.

Zimbru Chisinau 1 - Young Boys 0 (1-2 on aggregate) Simpson out injured. Young Boys advance on PKs.
