red card
Canada leads 1-0 at the half on a nice chip goal by Matheson just outside the box on the 30 min mark. Canada also hit the post and NZ hit the post off a corner earlier in the half. Lineup appears to be A version with Sinclair, Tancredi, Matheson, Kyle, Schmidt, Scott, Wilkinson, Chapman, Moscato, Sesselman, LeBlanc. Match is being played in a Swiss resort town of Chatel St. Denis at the Stade du Lussy. Looks like a few hundred watching on a cloudy coolish day in the mountains. Alf deBlasis & appears to be Paul James doing the commentary for EWS.
red card
2-0 is final for Canada. Sinclair scored near beginning of 2nd half from a nice feed from Schmidt and a clinical finish from now a dirty blonde Sinclair. NZ hit the post again. But no real saves had to be made by LeBlanc other than punching away a couple of corners. Though, other than the 2 goals, Canada didn't exactly force a lot of saves either. Then, 6 subs made ruined the flow for Canada. Timko, Foligno, Gayle, Stewart, Julien & Parker all came in. NZ largely had the ball in the last 10 mins. Overall, a typical Cdn performance in terms of style - nicely organized in the back, good work rate, can put together a couple of passes through midfield but missing creativity & tactical intelligence in the final third. But the 2 goals were from open play and were nicely set up and finished. Canada wearing all red but Herdman and others were wearing Centennial gear. A couple of Kiwi flags in the small crowd but didn't see any Cdn flags.

We have lacked tactical intelligence and creativity up front for years, until Herdman deals with that basic issue we will not be number one program. I think some of that can be solved by using Sinclair as the AM in Herdman's diamond. Not sure if that was her position today.
