Soccerpro
Canada hater Jacob Peterson just made it 3-1 for SKC. Impact getting no love from the ref tonight but have been very poor second half. First half was pretty even. Camara had the chance to easily clear the ball out to the sideline for an opposition throw in, instead he puts it behind his endline for a corner kick for SKC. SKC then scored on a penalty after Arnaud manhandled a SKC player off the corner kick. Bottom line is it never would have happened if Camara made the obvious smart play. THe impact have given up the most goals in MLS so far this season. Marsch better hope that Nesta can steady the ship right away. IF Di Vaio is any indication, Nesta will need to time to get match fit.

Macksam
Looked pretty sparse. That's too bad. Well, they just need to build their fanbase. It takes longer time for some cities when compared to others. On a similar note, the attendances for other teams seem to have picked up quite well. Dallas and Colorado both seem to have solid showings tonight. This league is going to become stronger sooner than people think.

shawn_strat
12085 tonight. Not even enough to fill the stadium last season.
Macksam
4th of July = big fireworks shows = big numbers tonight. lol, I would have never thought of that marketing angle. "Come celebrate America's birth date by watching...SOCCER!!!!"
madmonte
Sporting KC is a team that could be an example. The last 6 years they averaged UNDER 12000, but this year they are up at 17k attendance. Something clicked in Kansas. But right now, yeah Montreal is on the low end of the spectrum.
Grizzly
We actually played pretty well tonight unlike the previous two games in which we were terrible. On the positive side this was the first game in which Di Viao started to show his pedigree although his finishing still needs to improve. And as critical as I am about our current back 4 it looked more stable than in previous matches. As much as one hates to blame the ref, this guy was amazingly bad and one sided. I mean incompetent but similar for both sides one can understand (like we often got in NASL) but one sided like this I have not seen since my days of watching German 4th division matches (some of which were later revealed to have been fixed by the Croatian mafia). Actually I should clarify that and say I have not seen such bad reffing between my German 4th division days and until we moved to MLS because it is not the first game like this this year. Of course you notice it more when it is against your own team but it is frustrating to play in a league with reffing like this even if it benefits you in some games. And as terrible as MLS reffing is to begin with, tonight we got a guy who was reffing only his 3rd MLS match. It should be his last professional reffing assignment. We deserved the results against TFC and DCU but tonight we deserved better. And yes not many people in the stands tonight and if the club doesn't start changing its attitude towards its true supporters you can expect a rapidly declining attendance in the near future. Keano
Montreal was unable to capitalize on their chances which they created themselves through good play. KC was able to capitalize on theirs which were handed to them by the referee. Frustrating to feel like we had left NASL refereeing behind only to see it rear its ugly head again. youllneverwalkalone
That sucks when the ref screws you so bad you lose 3-1 at home. People are probably staying away until MLS gets better refs.

Greatest Cockney Rip Off
The first half of this game was really enjoyable to watch as a neutral. Di Viao looked really dangerous.
pappinchris
Hate to say it but without Ferrari/Rivas we are pretty weak in defense... Camara is talented but at times makes terrible decisions.. probably a better D-Mid or even left back lol.. Nesta can't come soon enough. ALSO Di Vaio needs some help up front. I like the idea of him playing off a true center-forward like Wenger (help create space etc..) Another thing Marcsh needs to stop playing Nyassi alone up front he is quick but a center forward at 5ft 7..really.. Anyways this is the end of my IMFC vent. Macksam
In somewhat ironic fashion, the referee was great in the TFC/FC Dallas game.
shermanator
Sporting KC is a team that could be an example. The last 6 years they averaged UNDER 12000, but this year they are up at 17k attendance. Something clicked in Kansas. But right now, yeah Montreal is on the low end of the spectrum. What clicked is that they played years in crappy stadiums like Arrowhead and a ballpark. They finally got their own stadium and the fanbase followed.
madmonte
It's not as though the ref made calls that were wrong. It was the way that he called them that made the ref look bad, but the calls themselves were actually right.
Cheeta
The first half of this game was really enjoyable to watch as a neutral. Di Viao looked really dangerous. More than a handful anyway. Funny how things eventually turned out considering how sincerely impressed I was with Montreal's entertaining aggression for the 1st 45. Pity, cause on another night you felt like SKC could have been dead and buried before the break with Montreal coasting to the win. Just didn't happen yesterday. P.S. There was some really encouraging plays by Montreal yesterday (going forward at least) even if they didn't amount to a goal. You have to absolutely LOVE seeing your players anticipating each other so well. Being of one mind as it were. Like seeing the game played like chess rather than checkers without dulling it down too much. Athleticism, aggression and guile. Loads of fun and easy on the eyes. For those that say this was the worst referee job ever you haven't seen many games or you are a major homer. As for the attendance, how can a team in the NASL last year averaging roughly 12k, now are in MLS with marquee players not get more fans? It is bizarre to say the least. There are literally in the hundreds of thousands of diehard "old country" football fans in this metropolitan area. I believe that the same 12K of them who used to give North AMerican soccer a chance, still do, and the hundreds of thousands that never did, still don't.
