ag futbol
Both Welshman (19th) and Bekkerman (21st) made Ives newest MLS mock draft board. http://www.soccerbyives.net/2012/11/sbi-mls-draft-big-board-version-2-0.html
jpg75
http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/1110/major-league-soccer/2012/01/09/2838136/monday-mls-breakdown-application-of-the-home-grown-player http://www.redbullsacademy.com/academy/overview/homegrown_player_policy.aspx I don't see how Matheson doesn't fit HG criteria? From the goal.com article you posted: "All players must take part in a combination of 80 games or practice sessions before departing for college in order to establish their eligibility for a Home Grown contract. Once they leave for school, they must participate in a minimum of 30 games or practice sessions (usually with the first team, but not always) during their four years in order to maintain their connection to the club." So as i mentioned in post 141 of this thread, it's up to Allando Matheson to decide if he wants to come back to train and qualify as a HG (assuming that TFC invite him). By the sounds of it he wants nothing to do with them.
passtheball
Bekker is currently training with Crystal Palace, who have been following his progress for some time. Kyle was able to get over for two weeks after his college season with Boston College ended. He's got a few more opportunities lined up after the holidays in addition to the interest he has garnered from MLS teams. Emery has been invited to train with the Seattle Sounders in advance of the MLS Draft. He's heading over there next week. In other Sigma news, winger Jarrett Hamilton just returned from the FC Edmonton combine, where he impressed the team staff.

Isn't Daniel Haber still a junior? The only underclassmen invited to the combine are ones that have already signed a Gen Adidas contract, I believe. Sorry about that. Hmmm...looks like he was named first team all-American. Not bad.

youllneverwalkalone
What a load of crap Flo Liu wasn't invited. Starting LB at a top program. Milo Kapor also should have got an invite. I wonder how much the agents have to do with this? I wonder if MLS forces you to sign anything before attending?

Link below has him on the USSF player pool. http://www.ussoccer.com/teams/u-20-mnt/o/kofi-opare.aspx Believe this came up before but I don't recall what the circumstances are He grew up in the States but moved to Canada before university, his family lives in Niagara Falls and I'm sure if we want him in the future he'll be ours as he doesn't look likely to make the states. TFC07
According to Ives, Ashton Bennett holds Canadian residency status. Maybe someone from CMNT should give him a call for January camp.
passtheball
What does that mean? Canadian Residency status?
Keegan
What does that mean? Canadian Residency status? I believe it means that he'll count as a domestic for either of the 3 MLS Canadian teams at the moment so expect Vancouver to take him and cut a Canadian

passtheball
Emery spoke to us during the Sigma FC University Showcase about his preparations for the combine, and on his collegiate career. youllneverwalkalone
McKendry comes in at #20 on the TDS top 100 freshmen final ranking. Despite winning all sorts of honours in his conference, Stanese is inexplicably excluded. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college/freshmentop100/?genderId=m&periodId=15&seasonId=2012&nopage=0 Jay Chapman comes in at #37. Sam
http://www.soccerbyives.net/2012/12/sbi-2013-mls-mock-draft-version-2-0.html SBI seems to think that Montreal might pick up both Welshman and Bekker. I think Montreal would be a good place for both of these players, Montreal don't have a whole lot of depth at either position so they should both at least get a look in if they do go to the Impact.
