Mr.Impact
http://www.impactmontreal.com/en/news/2012/06/patrice-bernier-voted-player-week-mls that type of performance should help him get back in the national team picture. He truly deserves it, and I'm not saying it just because I support IMFC. Patrice seems to be at the top of his game, especially on the offensiveside. He set up 3 of the 4 goals on Saturday, while taking care of business in his own end.
Keano
I`m thrilled Marsch has seen fit to switch to a 4-5-1 (or 4-2-3-1) in order to get Bernier on the pitch along with Felipe and Warner. It`s a testament to Bernier`s class and ability IMO
Keano
....and right after I type that he is substituted out the 60th minute against Chivas for the ever-useless Justin Braun and the Impact go on to concede and lose.

I know, that bugged me. Player of the Week out, elephant feet in. He was also subbed out of the game before, after THREE assists.. Braun was actually involved in Chivas winning goal.. Braun clumsily jumped up to head the ball away, missed by 10 feet, and Angel was standing behind him and headed it in.. Marsch plays one Canadian and treats him poorly.. guppy
Another straight nice performance from him against Houston, goal and killer assist. Bernier had something of a dominating presence in the game. Even the Houston jobber play by play guys were aware of it early and mentioned it. To be fair, the Houston play by play guys, although not great, were not horribly annoying. Later I watched LA vs Van and RSL vs SJ ... LA p-b-p is horrible over-the-top homer .. it's like listening to two evangelists of the Donovan Temple ... RSL is bad because the color guy is oppressively explaining the game in a high squeaky voice (the other guy doesn't really call the game so there's lots of time to fill). As well as he's always saying 'look at this' ... I am looking, ok, I'm watching the game, that usually means I'm looking. lol As I said elsewhere, Bernier made 75 successful passes vs 5 misses. Although Bernier foul leading to the 2nd Houston FK goal could have been decisive. He got over-ambitious reaching with his foot trying to steal the ball. Felipe looked a bit worn out, but Bernier took up the slack.
madmonte
Yeah, Bernier has definitely been beast mode lately. JDG better watch out because at the rate Bernier is going he might not only get called up, he might be starting ahead of JDG. Serious. But then a month of play is no indicator. Either way it only bodes well.

Keano
Yet another strong performance by Bernier as he leads the Impact sans Arnaud, Felipe, Rivas and Ferrari over the Crew in the first comeback win of the season. He now leads the team in scoring.

ag futbol
I'd like to see him in camp, but I'm not so sure how far I'd take it. I thought he was playing unbelievably well for a while there, but I noticed he's had a fair amount of mistakes creep into his game at times. Giving away the ball at inopportune moments, rash challenges, etc... don't get me wrong, the 90% looks fantastic, it's the 10% that I worry about... especially in concacaf where it seems refs try to invent reasons to put us at a disadvantage. Then again, if JDG can be average to below average for TFC every week and still get a call for the nats, I think Bernier deserves similar leeway considering he's playing much better at the club level. Colombus crew commentators last night called him and De Vaio "the two Italians" as they were sizing up the free kick near the end. Later, the commentatory called him De Vaio during the spot kick! Hilarous. They had no idea who this guy was! I'd say he's been on a tear all right, and I'd put him on par with De Guz on his good National team games. He's playing very very well. DeGuz on his great games though, there's no comparison. However, he is first choice cover for any of our central midfielders, DeGuz or Johnson. Speaking of which, Dunfield has been preferred to deGuz lately. Does that reflect current levels of play? Surprises me. Bernier is also adding a ton of heart to the IMPACT. I like Arnaud, but Bernier should be the captain of this outfit. goalscoring and passing...sorely missing on our National team at the moment. I wouldn't even put DeGuzman in the same sentence as Bernier. Bernier is showing passion, and a willingness to win games. Yesterday as skipper, he took the ball away from Di Vaio, and calmly converted a penalty. I'd take the guy who's playing every game, contributing to his teams success, and opening eyes in MLS.
