FootieFool
Maybe common knowledge on the boards here, but this came as a bit of a shock to me. "I think a lot of people don’t realise that I’m actually half-Canadian. At one point, I could have had the opportunity to play for Canada!" CanadianSoccerFan
He was a semi-pro hockey player from Cape Breton. I remember reading some quotes from Donovan intimating the dad was a bit of a deadbeat unfortunately

Guest Ed
I used to talk to his Dad Tim Donovan from time to time about 10-12 yrs ago. He liked to point out how Landon had a lot of hockey in his game.
madmonte
Don't all the North Americans seem to have hockey in their game though? Much more physical this side of the pond. Any North Americans who don't...who like...dive like bitches...they need to have their man card revoked IMO, or get sent the hell to Europe. Nothing drives me more mad. Go play in Italy, right? I wish our mentality with regard to soccer was a little more European actually. Do whatever it takes to win. If that requires being physical and using our North American attributes, so be it. If we have to lie on the ground and time waste in the 90th minute of a scoreless tie in Tegucigalpa, that's what we need to do. Sorry to keep quoting you! Guest Ed
I'm talking about heading to the net. There is nobody better north of the Mexican border at looking for the pass in full flight and taking it to the net.
An Old Fullback
He was a semi-pro hockey player from Cape Breton. I remember reading some quotes from Donovan intimating the dad was a bit of a deadbeat unfortunately His grandfather was apparently from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, on Cape Breton Island. I am a Serie A convert, friend got me watching at end of season and IMO it is the best quality play with the most parity between teams. Still don't have a favorite team yet, leaning towards Inter or Bologne
