Vic
7:00pm EST 4:00pm PDT China's 2012 games: 1-0 Mexico 0-0 South Korea 0-0 North Korea 0-1 Sweden 0-1 Germany 0-1 Iceland 1-0 Portugal Looks more like binary math than football scores. Outside the no-brainer of Lauren Sesselmann and two goalkeepers for a friendly, Herdman's roster is almost identical to Morace's World Cup team. Vic
Sure and thanks. Just starting a thread for the game in advance to keep things in one place. China is about as random as you get in women's football. Hopefully for the locals and players we get a win against what looks like a hardworking stingy team, but you hope the best for China. It's a tough life being a Canadian women's soccer player, but it's a lot tougher being Chinese.

Jcm144
This game has been advertised minimumally, even though it is a friendly. It is part of the 100th year celebration of the CSA and I believe it is their last game before the Olympics.

Vic
Americans beat China 4-1 today and 3-0 in a scrimmage the other day. Granted these are US Soccer highlights of the earlier scrimmage but the Chinese look uncharacteristically slow in their reactions: http://www.ussoccer.com/media-library/Videos/US-Women/2012/05/120523-WNT-CHN-Scrimmage.aspx Articles on today's game: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/28/sports/soccer/us-womens-team-nearing-olympics-on-strong-note.html http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Womens-National-Team/2012/05/US-WNT-Defeats-China-at-Sold-Out-PPL-Park.aspx
Tarrius
Looks like it will be close to a sellout according to: https://tickets.moncton.ca/Online/default.asp?brand=Sports&sessionlanguage=EN Says tickets are "limited", so I assume it's close to being sold out. Can't wait to go, hopefully the atmosphere will be great for our national team!

Well, that website uses "1/3rd" symbols and there are 10 000 seats in the stadium, so I expect that at least 6 666 tickets have been sold!

Vic
China now ranked 18th internationally and 4th in AFC, their lowest ever. While Canada and the US are tweaking for Great Britain two months from now, the Chinese are in recovery. Their leader Han Duan retired this tour after 182 caps and 106 goals. The Chinese flew to Toronto after their US game Sunday. Not sure when they arrived in NB. From Sunday: From Algarve: Sunday:

The Ref
The same old thing. Long high balls and get the ball and run type team. When are we going to build some confidence to come out playing? I know our skills are suspect, but surely we can do better. Too much of a happy go lucky coach. When our big gun Sinclair does not manage a single shot on goal, except for a free kick and the goal, it is unbelievable. The only player I salvage from the whole lot is Chelsea Stewart. argh1
As one of the announced 7,514 in attendance I just want to thank the CSA for bringing the game here. I had a good time and enjoyed the chance too see OUR team play. The $8 for a dog, fries and pop even seemed reasonable although I did stay away from the $6 beer. Keep spreading the game CSA some of us started thinking you forgot the regions of our nation.
