Attendance predictions for Canada's world cup qualifying campaign

Anyone know where were at attendance wise right now? I just bought 7 tickets for the first two games last night. I'm bringing a bunch of my footy buddies out so it should be a good time. Has the CSA given any indication of sales though? I truly don't

understand why these games aren't selling out. The product is much better than TFC and theres going to be some exciting competition. I think the CMNT could be really popular one day, I just think they need to accomplish something to make people start to take notice

It should, it's a much more significant match!

Whether it should or not isn't the issue (and I agree that it should).

The US game is on a Sunday as opposed to a Tuesday, and features a far more glamourous opponent. I wouldn't be surprised if it sells out, to be honest.

That said, I think the atmosphere will be better at the Honduras match.

Agreed that the Honduras match is going to be better..but the USA game was an easier sell to the casual fan.

I'm anticipating war on the pitch and in the seats.

Sorry I should have been clear my numbers were pure speculation.

I think they are quite astute.

Probably going to be very close to that, with the caveat that there is a 'sell on' from the USA game to the Honduras game.

I don't think so.

It's a Tuesday, so that means way less American Hondurans.

Security is, at least in talks on paper, going to be better than anything seen at any game in Canada.

And by good I don't mean stabby angry trigger happy lunatics, which we may still get, but that fact that the CSA is very serious about the south end being Honduran free.

I expect 20K for these games. The US match is an important rivalry and a celebratory contest, while the Honduras match is a WCQ. Anything less than this number for two high profile games would be disappointing for our "National Stadium."

does anyone have access to the number of tix already sold? Feel like someone would know the number we're currently floating at.

Should be over 10 for both.

No one knows about it.

"See The Rise" ads on transit, what does that mean? Gay porno maybe.

"Season" What season? it's not a season. The ads make no sense to anyone that doesn't already know what it is, and just piss off anyone that speaks soccer.

This is the one universal thing people understand "WORLD CUP SOCCER" Big bold letters.

You have to wonder just who signed off on the ads, Keep it simple stupid is the rule.....

World Cup Qualifier Honduras ....Tues: 12 June 2012 BMO stadium

Tickets from ticketmaster or your local soccer club

And a poster on every convienience store in the GTA, that means carrying the posters street to street and putting them up CSA folks.

But I must admit i got a call from some CSA Boiler Room asking about fan experience and where people would sit... it was funny to say hey no Honduran shirts except in the visitors section and absolutley no club colours or product in the Voyageurs sections, I hated it in Montreal to see TFC jerseys all over the supporters section when its country you wear the country colors or go to neutral zone and sit as a civilian.

I recall Gerry Dobson tweeting about 2 weeks ago, that the Honduras game has sold over 12,000 tickets so fare..........I'm expecting sell outs

for both June games. They have been giving away lots of tickets as well and seems like they will do what they have to do to sell out these games. I hope the appeal of Euro Cup helps sell some tickets too.

The north-end stands are theoretically the "away supporters section". But the only way you'd know that is if you happen to stumble across the easily-missable text on the Ticketmaster site saying so. I know of at least one Canadian fan who's bought tickets in the north end, not knowing it was supposedly the Honduran section.

As well, nothing will be done to force people wearing Honduran colours to sit in the "away" section. So, expect to see them all over the stadium. (The only exception might be the south end, as Jamie has suggested.)

I would be very disappointed if both games didn't sell out but certainly not surprised. The CSA's marketing is poor beyond belief. We need to tap into the national pride of Canadians who may not normally go to watch live footy and get them out in droves. This is our best chance at qualification in some time and a good start is absolutely essential (along with winning games at home). I've got my tickets sorted and am on anyone I can think of with any interest in the sport to get them out! Come on Canada!!!
