CMNT World Cup Qualifying - Camp Roster

REB remains a potential option but I imagine he said "ya, I'll come play after a bit of a vacation in Ibiza" b/c he'll have paid for his vacation already and I can't see the CSA giving him coin to replace it.

If they are negotiating that then we won't hear anything. Otherwise I imagine we'd have heard a Bernier call already. There isn't any reason to delay bringing him in.

Of course the always hopeful "just waiting for final confirmation from Junior"! :)

The team was supposed to play a closed-door friendly during the Florida portion of their preparations, I believe. Today is their last day in FL, anyone know if/when the match was played and, if so, what was the result?

From what I gather from Twitter feeds now, the friendly was played May 30 (yesterday) against the Florida Strikers (I wonder if he meant Ft Lauderdale?) and Canada won 4-0. That's all I was able to find out, don't know who played or anything.

That is most likely who they meant. Sunrise, FL (where the NT is camped out) and Ft. Lauderdale border each other north of Miami.

That is strange, if only because the Ft Lauderdale Strikers played in San Jose on Tuesday night.

Not sure how reliable this is, just picked up off Google.

translated, second para: Canadians, Hondurans rivals on June 12, have been training under 29 degrees Celsius in camera, and made a game against Florida Strikers of the National Soccer League (NASL) at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

apparently according to the SUN .. Hart said two players suffered a "setback" during training camp.

I think that means injury... do you think there is enough time to call up a couple people? Most likely NA based players?

or REB - he's in Edmonton as far as i know.. hehe

I don't think he'll call anyone up before the USA game. He'll probably leave that to the players that have been in camp already, familiarizing with each other. If he's going to call anyone, it'll be after Sunday at this point, likely. Even so, it's possible that the setbacks suffered were minor, maybe keeping them away from the US game, but they'll be fine for Cuba.

It may be perceived as insulting to a player (at this point) to be called for Cuba and utilized only as a player spectator, perhaps not even getting ONTO the bench as well...so unless there ARE a couple definite injuries, I wouldn't count on anyone else getting a last minute ring.

Interesting... it goes on to say that Hart thinks this is the best chance Canada has to qualify since the 1986 campaign.

Paraphrase the quote...

"I have no doubt that this is one of the best squads we've had in a while and we just have to go out and prove it on the pitch."

Goes on to say also that yes its a slight disadvantage at not getting any games in such a long time but they will use the game against the US as a good measure but at the same time always looking ahead and to jump start the next phase of the campaign.

kinda' sorta'

Hutchinson did NOT train today. :(

The other injured player DID train today. Reported though that Hutch didn't seem hurt so it could just be a precaution and he'll be saved for the WCQ matches.
