Ledg>Henry?? I am not sure. Ledg has the experience of course.

Piette again? This kid is obviously "the future." ??? Be fascinating to see how he does at Dusseldorf next year.

3 left backs in camp? Jakovic must still be hurt.

Predicted cuts down to 18 for the WCQ: Stama, Piette, Ledgerwood, Morgan or Jazic.

It's the best team we could expect bar the selection of Jakovic over, say Ledg. No disrespect to Ledg who always puts in his best effort. really really wishing we had REB though in the camp.

I also hope/expect Henry to get called in Sept-Oct if he is consistent in the TFC first team, which current forms suggests he will be. Be very nice for Attakora to get a club ASAP as well for added depth (again, a likely superior option to Ledg). Poor Ledg. I'll stop picking on him. He really does try his best and is effective against various opposition.

If we want one speedy striker to throw on in the 70th minute, I would rather have REB than Ricketts. I like Piette getting time with Atiba in training. The brass obviously loves him.

The only real surprise for me is Issey's inclusion - wasn't sure about that.

I like the squad because like El Hombre said it covers a strong starting 11; makes a lot of sense that Morgan was included. I hope(and think) Henry and REB will get called in one of Aug/Sept/Oct.

...and congrats again to Piette!

Not for me. Issey is one of our best "technical" players and has the ability to beat defenders in 1 v 1. He just needed to find a club at a higher level and play regularly.

I think he's the darkhorse for us.

If Club and Country are going to be friends and work together, no way both Henry and Morgan could be released. TFC would be f'd without them both. Perhaps in the fall when Williams is healthy Henry can be released for duty.

How would that screw Toronto? When does camp begin? The competitive games are June 8th and June 12th, with a friendly scheduled June 3rd. That's over a week after TFC's last game before the break - May 26th. And the first TFC game after the break isn't until June 16th.

I'd think TFC would be pleased for defenders to get some experience during the 3-week break! I don't think this has anything to do with TFC.

Was anyone expecting bernier to get the call? Also de Jong is injured right?

Yeah, De Jong is the only major missing piece due to injury. Bernier is borderline in my opinion, especially since he lost his starting job with the Impact. I love him, but he'd probably stay on the bench anyway, so why not bring in a guy like Piette.

Happy to see Issey and Hainault back with the team. And good for Piette getting another crack. Still kinda surprised to see the 3rd keeper is Stama...I'd like to see Chechinski get a look sooner than later.

And I thought Jakovic was hurt? Overall it seems like we'll have as strong as team as we can get for this round of qualifyers.

**Edit** 100th post ! I'm going to have a cupcake to celebrate this modest milestone

Pretty excited about the roster... as El Hombre said, covers most of who's expected. Hopefully they gel in camp, on time.

I agree with Ryan than TFC would only release certain players, and unlikely to have both Henry and Morgan gone at the same time.

Nice to see Piette getting another shot and experience at the international level.

Jakovic has been hurt off and on this season, I think ... not sure what his situation is right at this very moment.

On the Toronto players, I think Hart got it right. Dunfield is a massive liability in CONCACAF play (a match like he played last night with CONCACAF refs would have him sent off 2 or 3 times), while De Guzman still has the class that others don't. He will need to more consistent, though, to be a starter. Morgan and Henry are both overrated by TFC fans and others simply because they are young, but Morgan is clearly further along than Henry. For all the plaudits Henry got yesterday he was the one standing and watching Hassli's wonder volley from 10 yards away.

Made DC's bench yesterday IIRC. likely won't be match fit for Canada anyways, esp since he haven't had a lot of games. McKenna-Edgar IMO is good enough if you factor in Jakovic's fitness

Harsh. TFC defence was in middle of transition. Normally any player would have taken a touch before shooting on that cross which would have given Henry time to react. Nobody expected Hassli to tee up like that

The big learning curve for most young defenders is marking when your opponent doesn't have the ball, your positioning, head-on-a-swivel stuff so I concur with your points about Morgan and Henry. Dunfield is a limited athlete in terms of quickness in challenges leading to too many fouls. Defensively De Guzman's at his best in supporting a defender who is marking an opponent but I cringed when I saw him get skinned Stalteri-like by Rochat 1 v 1 on that one play in the box in the first half. I still like his skillset on the ball to get it out of tight situations and move the possession along. As you noted, consistency is the key for him right now.

Perhaps, but I can't help but wonder what the reaction would be if someone like Screech or Harden was there in place of Henry on that one.

Great strike, a top notch finish

I don't think any defender in the world could be blamed for that goal. Not even Nick Garcia.
